I totally think this song, albeit the original Lynyrd Skynyrd version, would’ve been perfect for the Guardians movies. I imagined a scene at the end of one of them where it’s revealed Peter had a secret third mixtape from his mom, but he had to wait until he was 18, becoming a man, to open it, but he never got around to it. He finally opens it up, and puts it in the cassette player, I would’ve imagined he got a new one during a trip to earth after endgame, and in the beginning is a recorded message from his mom, she says that while she’s not there to see him grow, she knows in her heart that he’s become a man that she can be proud of, and that the songs on that mixtape are the things that she wanted to tell him about getting older.
