Sometimes games stop working as the Steam Deck keeps getting updates. Have you tried using Proton GE? I sometimes have to use that to get games to work.

USB-C to Displayport. The HDMI is only connected to the integrated graphics. So it would not give good performance as far as games go anyway.

It's got the stands raised. This laptop just gets ready hot running at 100%. So did the m18 I had this cooler in previously.

@@XxViciousxX 2 brands I've been telling myself to never get is Alienware and Asus, always just seemed like the temps were terrible with these brands but damn, didn't know it could be this bad even with a beefy cooler like this, I got a Legion 5 Pro and an IETS GT500 v2, setting the cooler to max my GPU temps are like 74c on the high end while pulling 150W on the GPU.

Oh, I don't do handhelds while plugged in. It defeats the whole purpose of being a handheld. At least in my opinion. But it also would not have made much difference. Plugged-in helps out much more with CPU tasks if you want to encode a video or something it will help the CPU stay at its boost clocks. The GPU is not much different plugged in vs not so most games don't really get a big uptick in performance while plugged in. At least from my testing.

That's true I was thinking about doing a Steam vid. But figured people would think I was trying to pull a fast one on them or something.

Unfortunately no it seems to be locked to 30 FPS.

You can install 32gb with two sticks of 16gb. You can even go up to 64gb on his laptop.

@@anyanyanyanyanyany3551 Ah sorry about that I guess I misunderstood the question. Some people say kits are more stable. But from my research, I can't find anything that actually confirms that. So I'd honestly just go with whatever is cheaper. But if you do get individual sticks just make sure they are the same (which I'm sure you already know but wanted to make sure).

Yep there's not a whole lot of room for improvement for this game other than just fps.

That has not happened to me at least not yet. You already tried what I'd tell you to try unfortunately.

That is actually the correct way to test... If you just play the game you're going to be at a different spot every single time making the frame rate completely different from more than just changing the settings. It may not be exciting but it's the best way to get FPS Data which is why I have been getting more and more subs as time goes on. If this was a bad way to test no one would sub or watch.

I might do a FSR 3.1 video and include all the games that support 3.1.

Yeah it's not the best way to play. I'd play this on a desktop with a keyboard and mouse. But for on the go it's not too terrible. Though I doubt even if I practice I'd ever be competitive on this thing.

I didn't bother with one on either of my SSDs and they don't overheat and have been running good for over 2 years now.

Ah I didn't see anyone saying anything about that. I just saw people say it doesn't work just like Fortnight because Anti-cheat can't run properly. Or so they said. I wish it was a game I could just download through Steam then I could easily use the Steam Proton stuff.

I did fix it it was shutting down because I didn't have good contact between the GPU and the heatsink. After fixing that it hasn't given me anymore issues. But then again the issue was caused by me in the first place not anything the laptop did itself.

I might do that but I just like having the thing work properly finally.

Yeah me too. I figured if the Switch could run the game the Steam Deck could too. But anti-cheat I believe is the issue.

Mine is only doing 3440x1440 and I have a 7900XTX so lower resolution and slightly higher-end card and the same CPU just get a little better FPS.

its just a m18 all AMD system it doesn't seem to have a specific model number its just a m18 with a 16 core AMD CPU and a 7900m GPU vs the Intel and Nvidia options you can pick.

This laptop has a MUX switch so it does not get extra performance from an external monitor. I just like having a bigger screen and my laptop screen doesn't work with the latest drivers so using an external monitor is the only way to use this thing. Unless I disable the integrated graphics then I can use the laptop like normal. But then it would be hard for people to see in vids so I'd still just use the external monitor.

It sould be as this has gyro but I have no clue how to use it in games.

I did try that later on but was throttling even with a cooing pad. So I settled on LM and a cooling pad and now my scores and performance are back to normal. However, I still have higher temps than when I got the laptop which is annoying. But it was my choice to mess with it so I have no one to blame but myself.

Ah, so that's why my performance went up a bit after getting rid of the furnace thing. But yeah they need to fix that. Perforance also seems to tank when you get to the Cerulean Coast probably from all the water.

It does feel like they took a bit from that game to make this one.

Yea most AAA titles dont run well on this. But Elden Ring seems to do okay. I only really rune farm on my Steam Deck in this game. Then play for real on my desktops.

I have found that to work quite well. I generally play indies and old games I didn't play from my backlog. I leave all the hard-to-run AAA titles for my desktops.

Yep, it's not the most FPS but it's more than playable and I'm just happy I don't have to turn everything too low just to get playable frames like in some AAA titles.

It was getting a pretty consistent 60 though every once in a while a little stutter but it did not look slow to me. Though I don't play many fighting games, maybe it is slow and I just don't know it.

I could definitely do that. Although all I really did. Was downloaded it off of steam and installed and hit play.

It gets about 240-250 FPS in that game with low settings at 3440x1440.

I love Steam sales. I'll probably grab a few more games that I have been eyeing as well when the sale comes. As well as some games to make videos on.

Thank you very much and thank you for the sub I greatly appreciate it. It still has a little small stutter every once in a while but nothing that would get me killed. I remember when the game first came out one of my PCs would freeze up for a second every time I had an attack incoming or outgoing making it basically impossible to play. So I'll take a small amount of stutter over that any day. Though of course I'd prefer butter smoothness but most games just don't do that anymore.
