Just wondering…: up till now I knitted my sweater in the round, stockinette stich, always « knit », no « purl ». If I make the intasia now, back and forth, will the tension be the same, won’t you see the difference in tension? Do you have experience in this? Xx Dona
@iuliiacraft
@iuliiacraft 26 күн бұрын
Yeah, my tension is usually affected. I switch my left needle to a one size smaller needle (interchangeable needles) for purl rows. It helps me to keep the same tension. -Iuliia

Hello from Canada 🍁 🇨🇦 That’s a great question. Frankly, I haven’t use intarsia for complicated patterns like the one you are describing. However, I used one more intarsia technique (different than the one in this video) when you use a loop from yarn to knit. I’m wondering if that technique would work. I’ll look for the link to the video I followed for it and send it to you! Good luck with your projects ☺️

Hi, I want to know how you sewed the white part of the face as you didn't show it. Did you use white yarn or the grey yarn to see on the head? Thanks
@iuliiacraft
@iuliiacraft Ай бұрын
Hi! Unfortunately, that assembly part is missing and I realized too late to record it again((( I used white cotton yarn to attach the face. The white face part is shaped like an oval before it was attached to the head even though it was crocheted like a circle. The upper face part is put on the 13th row from the top of the head. The face is 11 rows wide ( counting from top down to the base of the head), 15 stitches (from left to the right). Mostly, it is about shaping the white part and placing it on the head in a way that you like. It might be a few stitches/rows wider/narrower. Nose is placed on the second last row right in the middle of the oval-shaped white face. There are 6 stitches between eyes. Hopefully it helps! -Iuliia

Wow! You really butchered those cables 😂. Are you a tight knitter? The cables are suppose to be “memory free”… Suggestion: if your hands hurt when you use the shorties, try using the longer needle on the knitting hand and the shorter needle on the other.
@iuliiacraft
@iuliiacraft 2 ай бұрын
Thank you for the tips on combining short and long needles. I've also discovered that using a working needle that is 0.5 sizes smaller helps in maintaining consistent tension. Initially, I bought these short needles for small projects such as mittens, socks, and baby booties. While I don't consider myself a tight knitter, working on small knits with these needles can be a bit tricky. It's ironic, that they are meant for tiny projects, yet that's where I face challenges. However, I have no trouble knitting hats or sleeves with ChiaGoo short needles. In the end, I've decided to focus on using the magic loop technique instead of the short needles. Have a wonderful day!

Hi. Do you have a video for rib on straight needles ? Thank you
@iuliiacraft
@iuliiacraft 4 ай бұрын
Hi! Unfortunately, I don’t have that video. To be fair, I have to say that my rib stitch on straight needles doesn’t look like the one on the circular needles in rounds. If I need a neat rib stitch knitted back and forth I make twisted knits instead of regular ones. Happy knitting 🧶❤️

I noticed your knitting needles are cube shape. How long have you used these and why do you prefer them to round shape.
@iuliiacraft
@iuliiacraft 4 ай бұрын
These cubics are from Knitters Pride and I have them for about three years. I can’t say that I prefer them over the round ones. In fact, I knit more with the round ones from Addi now. I noticed that my tension is different with the same size of needles in round and cubic. Knitting with cubics looks tighter than with rounds. Maybe, it’s just me ☺️ Here is the link to my review on these needles after using them for three years kzfaq.info/get/bejne/rLZiddxn36fFnXk.htmlsi=4dtshesad6iGcOAh

I love these booties and am attempting to make them for my nephew's baby which is due March 24th. I have a question about the decreases done on the sole. I have never seen anyone turn and switch the stitches around when decreasing. Why do you do this? Can I just knit 2 together through the front? Thank you for your time and sharing your expertise!
@iuliiacraft
@iuliiacraft 5 ай бұрын
Hi ☺️ Thank you ❤️ I hope they like the present 🎁 Switching the position of the loops helps to make decreases less visible or make them almost invisible. If you like the way your decreases look when you knit 2 together you should not worry about switching the position of the loops. That’s up to you and it won’t change a pattern or any major details of the tutorial. Good luck with your project ❤️ Please let me know if you’d have any other questions. I’d love to see the finished booties) if you’d like you can send me a picture or tag me on instagram @iuliia.craft ❤️

Thank you so much! I am fairly new to knitting anything other than a scarf! I made it to the top part where you switch colors and do garter stitch! Yay! I struggled with the sole where you folded it but it looks ok. One question to improve on my 2nd bootie hopefully: The heal between the magic loop gap looks very loose and stretched out. I can send a picture if that would help. Do you have any suggestions? Your booties look perfect! I plan to remake another pair and want to fix this if possible.@@iuliiacraft
