At that time here in Mexico, we couldn't get access to those concerts. Maybe that's the reason why we live it so intense since the 90's...well, we hope it can be for a long time...

Adam Clayton's Moog Taurus I bass pedal set is visible in the overhead shot- it was Sting who made him aware of the massive Taurus bass sound- think I can hear him triggering it on Pride!

Definitely one of the highlights of the concert, although when it started pouring rain during Santana's set, on a VERY hot day, seemed like a gift from above :)

What a perfect day…one I will never forget…16 years old with my 2 best friends…was bummed the Pete Townshend couldn’t make it…but what an epic show…It was Peter Gabriel, U2 and the surprise Police reunion….there were many other legends too…Bryan Adam’s, Santana…Jackson Brown it was a perfect NY summer day and night…I threw a glow in the dark frisbee at one point and could see it on tv when I watched the recording that my cousins surprised me with…I may even have the VHS tape somewhere still in a box…..

Probably my favorite live performance I’ve heard of hers. Three songs discussing the cruelty of the human experience in our time. A rough crowd’s greatly rude behavior, slowly, but not completely being hypnotized as they quieted down more. (At least that what I inferred from the contrast of how you could barely hear her at the beginning to how shining her ‘Hejira’ is.) ‘The Three Great Stimulants’ is perfect for Amnesty International. ‘Number One’ in this given situation is her most ironic song. ‘Hejira’, her magnum opus, just her voice, her guitar and Larry Klein’s Bass playing is so lovely. Running away with honor in the cruel human experience yearning for love and escapism. Worth mentioning her change of lyrics… “I keep the hours and the company..NOT you” and “Listen..I thought I heard Miles Davis coming through the trees.” Side note: She was especially beautiful that night, as if she wasn’t before. Yeah, its great. Everyone that night was.

Embarrassed to say I just turned 63 and just recently became a U2 and Led Zeppelin/Robert Plant fans even though I worked in the music industry in the US from 1977-1989. I was into Elton, Springsteen, The Who and many others BUT I must have missed seeing any picture of Plant in the early 70’s and watching Bono’s passion for performing anywhere. So I gotta play catchup. I absolutely adore Bono’s fits of emotions, while singing, little jumps, the tossing over a monitor or mic pole and I saw none of that in about 8 videos from a show last week in Vegas. Can you help? #1 are there any closer videos of him on this Amnesty show? #2 recommendations appreciated for earlier concert footage I can find would be greatly appreciated. I want to see MORE of this young Bono!!

Thanks for viewing and commenting. I don't have any additional footage myself from the Amnesty show. Although I haven't seen it on youtube there was a broadcast of a performance I believe from Red Rocks CO in the 80's where he carried a white flag that really brought the band to my attention, if you can find that performance.

This was a warm up act to becoming the hottest band in the rock and roll. By this time, they had the audience feeding from their hand.

I was at this show. My mom threw my tickets I. The garbage cause she saw Bill Graham on tickets thinking it was the evangelist. I somehow convinced the box office this happened. I had the copy of money order used to buy tickets. Again not sure I made it happen but brother and I got in to this great show!!!! No Pete Townsend which was a bummer.
