This was one of the worst cases of umpires being directed by a cricket board to try to neutralise an opposing player. Emerson was a disgrace: not incompetent, like Doug Cowie or Steve Bucknor, but crooked.

The only savagery here was exhibited by those reincarnated Austrailian Gestapo like umpires who thought the were superior to everyone in the cricketing world and to hell with what anyone thinks. To this day some Australian would gladly return to those days when umpiring helped to win their home games, some were decent people but the majority were, and still are racist to the bone.

everyone struggles after reaching the 80s and self inflict pressure thereby going down on strike rate at that point.. He was just the opposite. Couple of sixes and there you are a century

Of all the matches in the history of WC, only two matches stand out... this 2003 match between IND-PAK. The other one is the 1999 match between Aus and SA, which redefined the Australian cricket. Many don't remember/know that match was a drawn match...

This is misleading info. Murali's action was examined and put to the test . an ergonomics professor by the name of Prof. Ravi Goonetilleke of University of Science and Technology of Hong Kong. Most sophisticated sensors were used, and he came to the conclusion Murali did not chuck at 1/500 seconth of delivery. A detailed investigative report remain paatent & Filed in the ergonomic journal in London. Until then, ICC was nowhere in the picture. They got the teeth to act after this research report was filed. Prof. Goonetilleke, who challenged the ICC to date, remains the unsung hero of the Murali saga.

The greatest alongwith Sunny Gavaskar. Nobody comes close to them. In a era where there was no restrictions on no. of bouncers per over they had destroyed careers of fast bowlers. Nobody in modern era can even dream of emulating these two greats

comedy gold*......the whole world knows the murali was a chucker......he was allowed to keep chucking because the racist card was played.........when tested his action was completely different from when he played; eventually his chucking got so bad that he had some of his deliveries banned; which is why he belongs and is viewed in a different category than actual bowlers.........he was, make no mistake a remarkably talented chucker.
