Okay I have rewatched this show more times than I can count, yet this time I am finally seeing that Caroline and Stefan go so well together. I suppose maturing is realising how Stefan was always there for Caroline, not just in the last couple of seasons. Do I prefer Caroline with Klaus? Yeah, probably. Their relationship was giving drama and intensity (much like Damon and Elena). Klaus doing everything for Caroline. It was cute. But in a more realistic world (cause this show is so realisticccc🤡), Stefan really is a good match for Caroline. Personality-wise they work together and Caroline always seemed to appreciate Stefan even when he was with Elena. Okay, that is all. I will now continue the rewatch session :))

I loved how Kevin Williamson developed the relationship between Stefan and Elena. It was complex, captivating, and so well written. You could really feel the depth of their love and the strength of their bond. It’s really a shame that Julie Plec ruined everything afterwards. Williamson had a clear vision for Stelena. He knew from the start where he wanted to lead them and how their relationship would evolve. This is what made their story so special and unique. Plec, on the other hand, never seemed to really understand what made Stelena so interesting. She just made decisions that went against everything that had been established before. I can’t help but think about what Stelena could have been if Williamson had stayed as showrunner. I’m sure their story would have been even more beautiful and moving. It’s really a shame that we never got to see that happen.
