This should be mandated, worldwide, for every citizen in every country. It's a wholesome activity. Cameras should be installed in every home, so our leaders can watch us and make sure no one misses out on the fun. 😉

As someone who has been an inmate many times. This is amazing. Most of my time in jail we spent following our races leader's rules, being yelled at by guards, never leaving our cells or day rooms, and sitting in constant paranoia. Just imagine if the system/guards did their jobs and not just pawned it off to the inmates. The USA jail reform system is non existent...it is used to breed even angrier more dangerous criminals. TRUTH!

Haha. These kind of rehabilitation for inmates is ONLY HAPPENING IN CEBU JAIL. The other prisonments in the Philippines are full of riots & murderous and in fact, there are some of convicted criminals from other prisonments in the PH were killed by the police inside the jail. And the most well known that is happening now is Extra Judicial Killing on where even a suspect is not yet convicted will found dead on the street with missing parts of their body. I'm speaking the fact. So, be careful of what you wished. But if you still want to commit crimes in PH, just do it in Cebu lol.

There's a documentary in "i-Witness" about where lots of them never visited and forgotten by their families because of what they committed, and some are false accused about the crimes. Some of the senior prisoners there died in never seeing their families. Their dancing is part of the rehabilitation program (ONLY IN CEBU JAIL NOT THE ENTIRE PH PRISONMENT) as the way to at least ease their emotional burden, to discipline them and to avoid riots inside the prison. If you look at their dancing they seem to happy but deep inside, they're breaking.

I remember watching the dancing inmates and seeing them all over the news nine years ago. Looking back at the events now and recollecting the memories that happened, all I could pinpoint was how entertained and amused everyone was at the unusualness of the dancing prisoners, and the Filipinos took a lot of pride of this new program. Therefore, even as I look into the details today, all the articles that involve the dancing inmates were celebrations of how much the public admired the program and the choreographer’s “art.” However, I believe that there is something that no one has brought attention to, which is the prison labor associated with the program. Due to the merchandising of the dancing inmates and their popularity across all section of the social media world, I argue that the prisoners turned into a brand and the program took the public’s response as means for commercialization. I think that although the program was successful in publicizing and making the dancing inmates popular, they failed in helping prisoners re-enter society because regardless of their big part in the program, they were not treated as performers but as products. By bringing up this issue, do you believe that the program truly helped the prisoners and the facility by decreasing the crime rate inside the rehabilitation? I would further this discussion by stating that although the main claim of the program was to reduce gang violence, there was no logistical evidence such as statistics that prove their claim except for mentioning that the prisoners are supposedly “happier.” Did the CPDRC use the title of the "dancing inmates" beyond just a dance program and more as a product label?
