For detail: Sharpened Snare Cuirass is a medium armor 14 ac, full dex bonus, no penalty to tealth adenemies have disadvantage on spells or abilities that cause restrained. This includes Flesh to Stone and Flesh to Gold. Portent dice are available to divination mages, and stacked with halfling luck the only enemies you can't restrain and permanently turn to stone are those with "Immutable Form", which only includes bosses like Myrkul, etc. Then just stack spell save dc items as per normal on a mage.

Only Astarion can. Tbh, I used him in both of my honor mode playthroughs since he literally is the only character besides Karlach with soul coin to just get a flat out buff to damage. It’s exclusive to him ( vampire ascendent) which makes Astarion the most min max must have party member/ origin if you’re looking for pure damage. A whopping 1d10 necrotic damage on all weapon attacks is super strong, so ideally every build based around weapon or unarmed attacks are best on Astarion. (Side note: If you really dislike how Astarion ends up when ascending, I went origin Astarion and romanced Karlach to go to Avernus with her. Overwrites the evilesque ascendent Astarion ending to literally just be good since Karlach, Wyll (if he sold his soul for Duke), and you mainly fight demons and devils after the story. It is all that is brought up in the epilogue reunion as as well. Only real downside was once I became ascendent companions had some critical remarks to say about me ascending initially (but never brought it up once again). Basically no drawbacks to story besides those few initial comments on ascension.

In the case of Astarion party member, Ascendent Astarion isn’t that bad. It only gets quite obvious if you were romancing him but I literally just didn’t care for his change even when his tone and remarks changed. It is a fulfilling story conclusion if you let him end the cycle of abuse however, but it ultimately is morally grey since you either let out a tone of bloodthirsty spawn or mass kill them anyways (like in ascending) and get out with Astarions original “spawn siblings”. Becoming an ascendent vampire making you just pure evil kind of stupid, but that’s the lore I saw with in faerun so it’s kind of why ascendant Astarion companion can literally throw his development out the window. That led me to just play Astarion as an origin and just make him a morally good character post ascension through me controlling him and making sure to go to Avernus with Karlach and Wyll.

yeah that would work! I went pure monk mainly for more Ki points but adding any form of Barbarian would be good too. Just keep in mind that rage doesn’t boost the damage of unarmed strikes.

He is only available in the underdark. If you leave the zone, he's gone, and you have to get him again

@@nickkowak9628 but you can bring non-underdark creatures to him. Seen people raise the phase spider queen, and gnolls.

@@TamTroll spider queen you can drop through the hole in her lair, her corpse will end up in the underdark. Never seen reanimated gnolls tho.
