I struggle with this verse and those that preceded it. Jesus indicates God the Father will do more than an earthly father for his children. But there seems to be a BiG qualifier in that any request must glorify God… no earthly father would refuse helping their sick child if it didn’t glorify them (for example). It seems God only helps if it makes God look good. What am I missing here??

You know I listen to why God why? It was very interesting but for me I believe and it went throughout the Bible God testing he tests everyone and just like in Adam and Eve it was a test. Why else would he put the most beautiful tree in in fruit in the garden that was filled with evil it was a test. And the same thing with Job and so many other people in the Bible everything was a test. In the same as Abraham everything in the Bible that God does is a test to test us and that's why the tree of sin was in the garden of Eden that's why God test everybody in the Bible to see if they would choose him.

Whilst we are living in this Earth, we cannot live in Hell. Hell is the impossibility of ever being near GOD. And no matter how many sins or errors we might have made, we can repent, and be forgiven, In Hell, evern if we repent, we can't get out of it. This life is short, there is a saying which says no disease lasts a century, and there is no sick person who withstands it. Even if we suffer a lot here., our sufferings wil end with death. In Hell,it is differrent. Those there shall suffer eternally.
