He knows just enough to think he knows what he’s talking about out … He’s spouting out nonsense and trying to sell you this brand of fishing lines… The line is so so … but there are better lines … if you don’t know anything about line … then learn…

Very good video quality and your clarity in explaining. I watched many videos about this Daiwa model. I have difficulties assembling my reel. I can't understand how to position the large tooth gear so that the thumb trigger works. I think the reel in your video is the same as my SV TW 103XS L. Could you help me? Thanks

Simms Europe Customer Service is the worst I have even been unforunate to experience, they make you feel like a criminal when you question the build quality of their products even though the item in question (G4 Guide wading jacket) was faulty! I will never buy another Simms Product because of this treatment.

Sorry to hear that. I have had and heard great things from the USA customer service. Maybe Simms hires a third party for overseas customer service? I am not sure if they do. They still shouldn't be rude.

I bought this rod after watching this, and fished it with my Curado BFS XG with 8lb. braid (because that's what was on the reel and I didn't have any mono.) Casting was dismal understandably. I have some 4lb. Varivas Twitch Master that I'll try next. So far it's a fun setup because it is so light and maneuverable. Glad you're back.

I'd be Interested in your take on the $125 and $200 (separately) range between China/Japan/USA BFS rods for this half of 2024. There's very few people who are posting content with experience on both ends of the spectrum; $500 JDM imports and $75 Chinese imports. How much in raw performance (casting/sensitivity/action) are you getting by spending $300 on a mid-tier JDM vs $125 on a top-end Chinese rod. My perspective/situation is - while I can save up for a higher end rod; i fish the bank (salt and fresh) and live in an apartment. Stuff happens and babying a $500 rod and having that weight on my mind while fishing isn't comfortable. If i had a boat, with a rod locker and a soft deck - that'd be a different story.
@HobieWanKenobi
@HobieWanKenobi Ай бұрын
I'll say there definitely are diminishing returns when spending more money on trout rods, and rods in general. Mid-tier rods are nice but, the subtle improvements go unnoticed by most people.

I already have Finetail Glass rod, so I’m thinking of getting a new one, and my choice is between Kawasemi Rhapsody and Finetail Works Tune. Can't really go wrong any way. Small streams, the Dan Kung might be a touch too powerful. The Trout Signal will give you the most versatility of the three rods. If fishing for trout less than 8in, I'd do the Finetail Glass in the UL power

The kayak rentals are a must for the redear, because it's such a large body of water. The water is crystal clear too, so it's a sight fishing type of deal.
