Great info in the video guys! Yes on the 4 link and a detailed video on shock tower removal and install welding. it up. Do we have to stitch weld or can we weld continuously without warping too bad is one question I would like to see answered. Thanks!!!!
@lostsocketgarageКүн бұрын
Really depends on the condition of the metal you are welding to. We weld hot with this, but that means shorter welds.

Really checking out your fastback conversion kits videos for a future build I'm contemplating. The Mustang II front components are great for all kinds of builds- I have the Mustang II spindles on my AC Cobra build with aftermarket control arms to the existing pick up points and it works great. One quick and crazy question- have you guys ever built a fast back conversion with an IRS rear- either 8.8 Mercury or Ford IRS or the later Mustang IRS set up? Any other ideas to make a conversion handle almost "track like" on the road? Also, what kind of issues come up with fast back conversion with mini tubs so I can run decent sized tires on the rear?
@lostsocketgarageКүн бұрын
We have used the Ridetech 4 link as well as a mustangs to fear watts link. I love em both. Depends on the style of mini tubs. Typically we get the kit from MTF. Pretty straightforward. But you'll need the fold down seat to weld in brackets for it.
@bobschulz1414Күн бұрын
@@lostsocketgarage Do the mini tubs encroach into the fold down seat area or door panel areas requiring custom made pieces? I have a ton of questions and now my new shop building is just about finished, so I will be able to consider this project very soon...

So you sawed off an inch from each of the inner tie rods. Is that change done to facilitate wider tires on the front of a first generation mustang or is the set up on the Mustang II wider?

i wish id seen this kit before i got the one i installed . i have a basic kit and it was not bad to install but figuring out the motor mount situation was a pain. the mtf kit has a bigger drop so my engine could have been in the stock place351w has a fat oil pump so my engine sits a little bit forward i test drove it with no wheel alignment and it was way better than it was nice and tight i still need to figure out a sway bar maybe mtf will have on that will fit . great job as always

@@lostsocketgarage I don't like 71-73 rear was flat and nose of the car. Then Fox body based off Fremont chassis they didn't look like Mustang. People like to say Mustang II a Pinto not even close. They only share small piece of sheet metal under rear seat. They share ton of small parts but many models did that. First Mustang was re-skinned Ford Falcon.

I love your channel. The amount of information that you guys give out for doing the fastback conversion is phenomenal. Last year I picked up a 67 coupe, California V8 car. No engine no tranny no front end no interior. Just a shell. But it has, zero rust and has never been wrecked. And I’ve contemplated doing the conversion. My question is, Does anyone that you know of have information on doing a conversion to a convertible?
@lostsocketgarage12 күн бұрын
We have been asked a couple times to do a coupe to convertible conversion , but we haven't done 1 yet, so I don't want to give you bad info. It would require and extra brace, thicker gauge floor, and passenger torque box at least. Also thanks so much for following along with us, glad it helps!!!
