Awesome video, and thanks for the shoutout! Completely agree on your point about the power of playing from the discard. Personally, I think it makes games more consistent and rewards good players, but it definitely needs more even distribution among symbols along with counterplay to hit the right balance IMO

UPDATE: I finished in 6th place out of 165 players with the Amajiki deck! The only change I made to the deck was swapping Manifest in the side for a 3rd Ape in the side. Didn’t quite win the whole thing but still really happy with how the event went 😃

that kiryu list looks super fun and strong, its just weird to pass up on city rampage, ive been playing it on earth and whenever you draw city rampage it becomes so unfair, plus you get a lot of fake readying your foundations with cards like canister creation strike or giant cliff

pretty on point about flashfire fist in the toru list. i considered dropping them for falling heel strike and then replacing return of the kings with fast friendship to fix the block zones but decided i liked the commit over flip with return. the 1 surging crystal darts was a buddy card since i wanted to up the attacks and darts had good stats + a low block.

The thing that surprised me about the Earth Godzilla list was a lack of Enormous Axe. The Earth build is honestly the best suited to pressing the once per game button and recovering. Axe does a lot of work there. But that also lends itself to having a Spike sideboard as a result.

I really wonder if they are going to allow placeholders or tokens for cards like the Attack Titan. They tried to put a heavy focus on speeding up games, and allowing someone to flip a card in their sleeve two or three times a turn seems counterintuitive.

Flesh and Blood just released a set with double faced cards where you just have to use sleeves, and it worked out alright. It's a little annoying if you just want to use the pre-constructed blitz decks, but most players use sleeves these days.

Titan Cliff builds in a 6 check from your discard pile, may be some potential for Backups there?

I don't understand why backup exist except if they add a big ruling to backup that make them appealing, why not do the same thing they did with nott's flask they work the same yet nott's flask don't complicate the game... for a game that want to reduce the complexity of this game it seem like they bring something that really complicate the game.

The fact that both of these check 6 is a big thing. If all back ups check 5s and 6s then that could be cool. And when it comes to the momentum thing that will absolutely change how I feel about these cards. Otherwise I think your opponent having to waste an attack on these is a positive that shouldn’t be underestimated. But if this does award your opponent free momentum 😬. Also side note: I have a feeling that there will be attacks or actions that can be played from the backups making them a little better.

I think you're being a little harsh on small titan. It's effect is really weak, but you get to build it after blocking with it, which is pretty decent. 3 mod isn't the best, but getting an asset on top is nice. I think it's worth noting that these are common, generic backups, so it stands to reason they'd be a LOT weaker than the rarer attuned ones

The Joker is definitely going to run every "Check X" card it can (there was a few in YuYu). the Mill aspect is 'easier' to do because its not "your turn" locked. If the Joker can get a consistent way to pass the 6 check though, it will be VERY hard to block an overloaded zone. in my head the order goes: Play an attack, commit the joker to pass it. Play a random enhance that requires a check, fail it, ready your joker. Now you can use the Enhance to check a 6, and take your pick. Repeat on the next attack. Sir Night Eyes card finally get someone else who can use them well for the bonus effects (rival has more removed cards than you).

I have a big thought. I think Horse Toss is a shift attack. With the titan thing. Its separated from the keyword with a | not a dot like the attacks like waylay.

I would be all in on Universus if they get more DC. I am excited about this news and hopeful for the future.
