I just heard about this because someone suggested adding dog food and water to the product and the flys around my house go crazy for our dog food 😡

I think a lot of people miss the instructions on these, they are supposed the be hung at least 30 ft away from where you are going to be to attract flies away from you and so you don’t have to smell it! I made the same mistake before I realized.

I purchased on Amazon and wasn't charged sales tax, it's also come down a few $ since I purchased. I didn't try Therm-App but the one I see on Amazon is almost $2k, over double the price of this HT-301. I keep mine in the case at all times when not in use, but it's so small and light that it's easy to transport anywhere. It comes in handy for many situations!

The masks the horses wear are to help keep the flies out of their eyes and ears! :) They don't wear them all the time only when the flies and gnats are bad out.

When you rinse your girth and pad - do you just hose them down with water? Or do you use a kind of soap too? And then do you just lay them out in the sun to dry?
@colliefarm570

I have used a *teeny* bit of mild soap in the past and scrubbed it with a brush then hung it out to dry. I don't soak the pad through (just dampen it and wash the soap off on the underside) and I only do that once in a blue moon (maybe twice in this pad's 7 year life span) and try to do so only on days which aren't crazy humid/rainy. Keep in mind also, it can take a day or two for it to dry out fully. If it doesn't it will be smelly.

Collie Farm got it! I have one pad that is completely 100% felt and will use this technique to get Hamptons hair out. I’ve never washed it though cause I thought that would destroy the pad. I also have one of those pads you find at tractor supply that’s like a rubber on the bottom so the horse can breathe and has a standard colored stitching on top. I figured those were safe to wash thoroughly compared to a felt or wool pad

Take it to the car wash, clip it on the mat clips, use the plain water to flushit thoroughly. Dry in sun. You should curry ypur pad before you put it on each time. If it smells foul, that's too dirty to be on your horses back.
