Was buying one last night and noticed Google’s one is more expensive than Apple. I asked recommendations and the guy who worked at JB Hifi said for listening to music the Google one is better, but for talking on the calls, the Apple one is better (Apple has better microphone).

For me, I’m looking at the convenience & compact. The best camera is useless if you don’t have it on you. A Canon M50 Mk II is awesome small but it’s still bigger than a big phone. The S120 was good enough to grab & go even walking the dog. Literally pocket size. At the end of the day , the best camera is the one you already have in your hand If that’s your phone, good engine. Better to get the shot than not. (:

I have Paperwhite 4 and Oasis 3 and I'm about to switch to Basic. I saw it in a store and I love how light and compact it is and also how crisp the screen is. The lack of glass/plastic layer over the screen makes it the best screen in the current lineup. I also don't use warm light anymore as I feel it's easier to read with white light... When I see black text on white, it's easier to read then black on dark orange I used to use.

Thinking about getting a new kindle. I have the basic kindle, had it 4 years or so. Haven’t used it as much as I’d have liked - still prefer physical books but want to use it more given I’m travelling more and want to minimise clutter - I think the warm light and bigger screen would make it feel more like a book to me and help me use it more so thinking a paper white could be what I need. Also the menu screens are so laggy and if you don’t refresh the screen after a bit the words go a bit fuzzy, think the better PPI will also help.

if you are into photography, a dedicated camera is no brainer..However, if you're into video, a phone is no brainer.. Remember when you're into video, you're into content creation and content is king over best of quality image, dedicated mic etc.. Now with a phone, you get an idea.. you get rolling in secs.. unlike a dedicated camera where you have to begin fiddling with non-essentials to the content itself.. Now content providers whose content is all about camera or videography will disagree but to the other 99% of content providers, a Phone is the way to go..

I got the paperwhite with ads, I got a 3rd party cover so I barely see them and usually they don't load anyway, also I traded In my old kindle and so I ended up paying only $ 75. I think I did get it on sale too, also the 3rd party cover was only a couple bucks but pretty good.

Got the PW because of the water resistance and the larger screen. Now I can soak in the bathtub and not worry about wasted time of not doing anything or alternatively a damaged device or paper book.

My photos are dark after taking pictures iPhone 15 pro Any help?

I recently purchased the PW. I wanted the basic because I wanted a smaller device...but the fact that the PW is waterproof and has warm lighting made me get it. The two main reasons for me was my job can catch me outside in the elements at times & I work nights, so warm lighting before bed during the day in a room I have artificially darkened is critical at convincing my body to shut down for the "night" If they had a model of basic that has these features. I would have bought that one hands down.

for mid range zoom lens 28 70 is best. For mid range primes 35mm and 50 and 85mm are best and better than any zoom

In 2021 I got the 8gb paperwhite kids during prime day. Main reasons were free case, waterproof, usbc, warm light, and no ads. Paperwhite still has a larger screen so less page flips. I won't upgrade or downgrade until this thing breaks. Happy to see the basic has usbc now!

I got my Paperwhite a year ago because I wanted the bigger screen and more storage space. The basic is just too small for me screen-wise whereas the paperwhite feels about the size of an actual book. I also plan on having just the one model until it falls apart, so having enough space to fit an entire library of good books is a must. I love it, all I can read without taking up my shelf space!
