Hi Sam I have been struggling with my screenprinting and looked at a lot of videos, you have shown the best instructions and I have been able to do everything except I am struggling with the timing of the burning. My husband use to do this and I just cannot get it right any tips. Thankyou again

I’m going to make my own here soon…great, clear instructions! I had gotten a rather large one like you made probably 20 yrs ago at a craft fair ($45 even then!) but it got damaged in a move😢. But I’m fairly certain the wood pieces looked GLUED! Would that work as well or do you think it might have just been a filler of some sort they used to seal between the pieces? Over the entire piece it had a type of high shiny varnish or polyurethane coating as well. I think for craft fair projects keeping it flexible so it can be flattened would be a good selling point for moving & storage purposes though. Might still have mine had I been able to do that!

Should be using the 3 in 1 oil for fan motors not the regular 3 in 1 oil. The fan's electric motor has to be taken to properly oil the fans bearings.

The BBC have done away with long wave so my 32 Murphy is now redundant, coincidentally it also developed a falt towards the end so sadly I see this as the only practical way of keeping it in use, thanks for the idea chap.

Hi Steve. So I did fix it using your helpful suggestions. But, now, my fan is knocking as it rotates from the fan wobbling a bit. Any additional thoughts on how to make this stop? Thank you!
@SteveCarmichael

Check to see if a blade is bent and hitting something. If so you could bend it back. If the motor is making a noise, I don't know how to fix that. Not long after I fixed my fan, it stopped again so I just bought a new one.

Nice design. Looks a little thin on the printer, have you had any durability issues? I'm printing one now and will find out for myself but would love to hear a review with some age on it.
@SteveCarmichael
@SteveCarmichael 3 ай бұрын
Hey, thanks! I printed two of these and still use both of them connected to stationary tools. Sometimes I disconnect one and attach it to the floor wand, but it slides out too easily unless I tape it on, but it's rare I use it for that. A design change to solve that would be good.
@burntsilverado
@burntsilverado 3 ай бұрын
@SteveCarmichael printed it. Came out well in just over 2 hours. Was a little loose in my hose but a few wraps of Teflon tape solved that. The working end fits attachments very nicely. It even felt stronger in my hand than I thought it would. Used esun pla+ because I plan to keep it outside in texas. 9/10 Good work! I'm thinking about trying the remixed version with barb, but he changed the design and in my opinion made it weak. In slicer you can see it only has 2 walls on the straight part. Will try soon and let you know. Thanks again.

The PDF should open if you have free Adobe Acrobat installed. (The Wood Magazine plan is not mine, so it's not free if that's what you tried to click on.) Thanks and have fun! Steve...

I didn't use glue on the 3/4" parts. I like the option of taking it apart and changing something if needed. Also, if I ever don't need a project anymore, I will often take it apart and use the wood and screws for something else.
