3:33-3:50 This is what differentiates Luciana from any other I have heard. That is perfection *that flows* It’s not just talent and technique mastered over hundreds of hours of work. That’s something that cannot be named. I call it soul. And that shines and shines and shines, like a stream of light from her voice.

I don’t know if there is such a thing as an equivalent to knighthood for ladies who have made a contribution to humanity, but it should be. And Luciana should have had this, as a small token of appreciation for singing more beautifully than angels. If you know someone who wants to take some singing lessons, check her website. God knows, after the show biz no longer wanted her, maybe giving canto lessons has been her only way of putting bread on the table. This world is awful, if you can make it at least bearable for those artists who made your soul soar, do it. You owe them a debt of gratitude.

Susanna's voice is perfect, but the orchestra is stalling and rushing in certain places... without any logic that i can hear. It used to be my favourite performance of the duet for a long time, but then I listened to many more performances and now this one is quite jarring on the ears with regards to the accompaniment.

Luciana Serra is a Goddess of singing and having seen her several times on stage I can say that recordings do not reproduce the fullness of harmonics of her voice that even if not big was capable to fill with her vibration the space of big theatres like as those of London or Rome. Anyway her coloratura is astonishing.

I know this. Monostatos, the Queen of the Night, and the Three Angels try to do that final part of the plot to kill off Sarastro. Not even a rumble of thunder would ruin their first plans, but as they got too close to Sarastro's sandbox, Sarastro releases a much louder, powerful thunder and lightning series of blasts and smoke at the 5 people, and they all sink down to the earth--into nothingness. It is like they are Katschei in "The Firebird Ballet" and the egg breaks, destroying all of their souls. And the final outcome - Tamino and Pamina - having endured the tough ritual tests by Sarastro, win their biggest reward of their lives, as Sarastro declares both of them as true, reunited lovers.

That is why I like "The Magic Flute" still. It may not be the biggest magnum opus opera-wise for Mozart, but it was still good.
