Cant stand catherine zeta jones since the darling buds of may. I remember it being on the telly when i was wee.. just looks weird seeing her in these films. Shoulda used a real actress 4 that role

The way both of them start to realize what a true "diamond" they've found! ... The slight change of expressions on their faces, especially on Frank a.k.a. Beau's, says it all!

The movie was so perfect as a whole, cast, choreography, costumes, music, it seems a shame separate elements were broken out for judgement which made no sense. At least the whole did get the "best picture" Oscar.

Thank You Recommendations! I was 9 years old when Chicago came out. It took me ten years to sit down and watch it. I thought the songs and dancing were the only things I would enjoy about it. It’s tough to find a movie where the hard work behind the scenes can translate into something good nowadays. I never imagined myself being a fan of a satire about criminal showgirls. But it was Rob Marshall’s work on the Disney version of Annie that convinced me to give this movie a whirl.

Every bit of it was brilliant! Best musical film ever. Not only the performances but as also camera and editing. Sorry Mel Brooks. The Producers was the funniest, though.

Was Queen Latifah not big when this came out? I’ve always found it weird that she didn’t share top billing in the credits just based on name recognition alone.

I have no notes, except she should have done the whole song. If she had, it might have been the definitive rendition (allowing for the fact Pfeiffer benefited from extensive studio editing). Best arrangement I've ever heard, for sure. But since it's just a snippet, Rosemary Clooney still gets the win. Or Ella Fitzgerald. I go back and forth. I know they couldn't do all of every song she sings in the movie, but this was a really important moment, and okay fine, that would have been a LOT of studio editing, but worth it. They couldn't afford another two or three minutes of runtime?

Catherine what a performer! In 1987 I was in the Audience in 42nd Street once where she was in the Chorus she owned that chorus line. Later I went back to see it and She Played Peggy Sawyer as the leading actress was ill. You could see when she was on stage she was destined for greater things. She was Hungry and she Loved being there!

First girl is of course, Jennifer Tilly. I ran into her at the salon I went to (it was mostly women, but as a guy I got a very good cut) in a Chicago suburb. I said to myself, that person looks exactly like Jennifer! Had I the nerve to approach her I would have found out instantly by the voice. Man did she exude sexiness. I was just leaving so I called the barber and he got back to me an told me that indeed, it was her! I always wondered what the hell she was doing there…..
