Only recently come across Katran and that you sell this chain core, I used to get the same stuff from 'A Carpy Connection' and was really gutted when he stopped selling it. It is by far the best leader material on the market, the suppleness is unreal. You're right about it losing a bit of colour over a period of time so when necessary i use green, brown and black permament marker pens to re-colour it. Good tip about splicing it a little way through the chain core as i did find it could slip, funnily enough only when it was loose but not when under pressure so it's never cost me any fish. Absolutely brilliant stuff. I will definitely being trying some of your other products, if they're half as good quality as this then you're on a winner.

With the slip d and pva bag does the d not slip back on the cast with the extra weight
@Katrantvuk
@Katrantvuk 3 ай бұрын
That’s a good question but not enough pressure to pull it out on a normal cast. If was punching a distance cast then yes I would say something to watch for. I would say 10-14wraps casts it’s just not gonna happen as most of the pressure is being done by the weight of lead 👌 thanks for watching mate 👍

Some of your terminal tackle looks good, but it should be more widely available. It's also not quite up there with other brands - 10m of coated braid? If you could sort these issues, you may capture a new market.
@itstheMasterPeace
@itstheMasterPeace 4 ай бұрын
I'd have to disagree about it not being up there.. I've been carp fishing for nearly 40 years, tried and used everything right back to dacron and some of the original coated braids like mantis. The Katran products or as good, if not better than all the modern day materials. That go's for hooklink and main line. I do agree it should be more readily available though, infact it should be replacing a lot of the rubbish on the shelves.
@jamesriley6344
@jamesriley6344 4 ай бұрын
@itstheMasterPeace well, some of it is only on 10m spools. Personally, I think the whole industry should be doing something like 50m spools. This is coated braid I'm talking about now. I use 2 or 3 foot long rigs and I don't get many rigs from a 10m or even 20m spool. I'd pay something like £20 for 50m. I sincerely doubt it'd affect your bottom line much.
