Oh wow 😳 so you fixed it!!!!???? But you definitely need to sharpen the wood auger part now!!! And don't forget the difference in screw twist if going really deep with it!!! That small diameter screw even with the set screw holding it will be trying to keep up but will in a deep bore lose the race and be pushed faster than it's little inclined plane can handle that's why it's originally a severely tapered short guy to begin with!!!!

If there are more than 1500 subscribers, I think we can make a competition. P.S. Delivery at my expense

I got a couple different ones off Temu and they held up nicely. I was testing them out and I like the longer ones for making for wood length log stoves. I wish I had a nice one that was hand made and of known quality as your skills show a great way to make one. Unfortunately, I do not have a metal lathe and would have to use a pice of pipe and I might try that .
@addforgingКүн бұрын
@@MrOldclunker I also tried the first 3 augers made from pipe. I was looking for a pipe that matched the size of the drill. The pipe was made of soft steel and not particularly thick; the blows of the stick made the ring make a nickel. There is already a friend here, everything is made of a solid circle, wall thickness is from 5 mm to 12 mm

To make steel rivets you can use welding electrodes. I did not try to harden them. May be possible before you install it ? May be possible after instalation using a welder in points or mig? The electrodes are a little softer than the iron rivets but work.

For removing abundant amounts of wood for the eyelet: Tap the eyelet where you are going to make the peg, just enough to mark the surface. Then you can chisel/saw down around to remove most of the wood in a rough cut. I highly recommend bushcrafters add a chisel to the wrench sheath. The combination of these two tools opens up an extreme amount of options. Also, waxing, or oiling, the eyelet prior to shaving the peg will allow for easier removal of the tool. This is especially useful if working with wet wood.

That's a fantastic settlers wrench not only can you make extremely strong connections with it it sure can make a wooden rocket stove in a hurry!!! I'm thinking of making a detachable auger version of my 2"×17" wood auger then I can simply carry the drill for when I get tired of using the eye and switch to a drill and go much faster!!! Did you read my comment in the video you made with the tool roll of your different sizes??? I've subscribed to your channel sweetie 😉!!!
@kimnielsenthewordyvikingett1595 ай бұрын
Why don't the eyes match the auger's??? How are you going to cut the tenon's for them???? I don't know if you're interested but I've built a detachable auger settlers wrench. And it works so much easier than the traditional welded one piece. I'll be making the other sizes other than just the one inch as well. From 1&1/2" all the way down to 3/8". That video is titled (finished detachable auger settlers wrench)!!! By the way I really like your two inche version in your other video with the I'm guessing 17" long auger??? I've invested in a tenon cutter for that size and also have the 2"×17" auger which is great for making wooden rocket stoves isn't it???? I've subscribed to your channel sweetie 😉!!!

This video shows one of the examples of how to evenly and quickly weld an additional piece of pipe to another pipe, so that later it does not straighten from skew. Initially concreted pillars for gates and fences at a certain height. Now the height of the fence and the gate has increased and it was necessary to make an additional addition from the pipe to the pillars for aesthetics.
@addforging8 ай бұрын
In the video, additional support pipes are 6.5 feet long. You can use less than about 3.2 feet. I did not want to translate good material, I took long
