Hello! My name is Daniela. I want to make this cake,but I don’t want to use powder milk. With what ingredient can I substitute it? And I don’t have self rising flour in my country. Can I replace it with all purpose flour and a teaspoon of baking powder?

Hi Daniela, thanks for coming by and choosing this recipe. You can add 290g All purpose flour with 1 tablespoon baking powder and sieve it twice. Then you can omit the milk powder. Happy baking.❤️

By far this are the most moist butter cake I've ever seen done on YT. The rest looks a bit flaky when cut the cake. Thank you for sharing your recipe. ❤

Self-raising flour is flour with the baking powder & a bit of salt that has already being added. Hope this helps. ❤️

Hello Sifu Flo and all other sifus. Haha. I have 2 newbie question. I notice never beat eggs fully when folding in flour and also I notice after folding all the flour in, still some flour lumps. I done butter cake once and I beat eggs in until "sebati" and then folded until no clumps of flour then bake. Cake became not soft. Is this why? And also, i want to put buttercream icing. Tq p/s: Sifu flo, cake looks awesome when u cut it lor.... im gonna bake this week for mom's bday.

Thank you for trying out this recipe. Over mixing & liquid inaccuracy can also cause the cake to be dense. Not so fresh eggs could be another factor. Butter cake is rich in flavour & best taken on its own. Butter icing goes well with sponge cake. Hope this helps.😊

Hai, may i know how long you beat the butter and sugar ? How long you beat the egg ? After cake bake, need immediately remove the cake from pan?

Hi, do beat the butter & sugar until light & pale. Time approx. 15 mins, depends on beater used. Once pale, add in the egg one by one, continue beating until well combined. The cake can be removed from it's pan while still warm. Hope this helps.

@@floculinary Once remove the cake from pan while hot , are we suppose place on cooling rack and later after cool down then place to original position?

@@indiancinebitz118 u can cool it on a cooling rack but i just place my cakes on grease proof paper without a cooling rack. This way the top of the cake will have no lines. Happy baking.

Hi Lubna, honestly, i never weigh my cakes cos it's more for self consumption. This 8- inch butter cake is a good size.
