Newer subscriber to your channel and really enjoy it. Do you announce when the live segments will be on? Taking off August is very European Union of you! 🤪. I found your channel based on the War of 1812 videos as I am across that large pond. I know it is a sideshow for Napoleonics but we here can’t wait for more on that little war. Some fascinating battles and many commanders and units from the Peninsular War fought here in both the Chesapeake and New Orlando campaigns. One bad for us and one bad for you guys. Anyway, a good way to give back to your American friends but also cover British armies familiar to your traditional viewer base. Enjoy.

Why would the Americans not either turn slightly to windward to try to get a-weather of at least the most downwind British ship, or just turn downwind and run? Continuing straight ahead seems to be a poor choice.

To some it may not matter but what flags are used for what British and Russian Regiments and what Divisions they are in ? ( I know them) . 4 Russian Regts are bonded to a certain Division and have certain flags each. Information hard to link up and find
@NapoleonicWargaming4 күн бұрын
@Rusty_Gold85 your best bet is to find the regiments in the division you're interested in and see if a company makes flags for those units (GMB for example). It'll be easier with the Russians as they all have the same facings. For the Brits, they have a flag that matchers the colour of their facings, that will limit the regiments you can do (unless you buy the flag first and paint the unit to match)

Obviously your rules mate but I can’t believe you’re leaving out the Perry metals as they do plastics….. they have continued adding both to their ranges and are always quality. I wouldn’t have Eagle in there, yes a good range but as you said very small and I have found that the castings can be very variable. Foundry are lovely but as you said very small and also expensive although they do their end of year sale which can help if you save up your orders. For me: Perry; Piano; Offensive; Elite; Front Rank. Honourable mention to North Star who do some lovely minis

It would be really cool to see an expansion to the battle reports based on the start collecting videos. The Waterloo battle is easily one of my favorite videos of yours. Additionally, It would be nice to see a sort of idiots guide to the armies that revolve around everything but the minis. FOr example, if starting Austrians this is where you get rules for them in black powder, or here are the 3 different books to get rules for the French and so on.

Excellent video as always, gonna miss the summer videos. I had a question for you or anyone, I have 3 regiments of Hanover for Waterloo. I painted 2 normally but the third I wanted to do something interesting, anyone knows what I can convert them to, doesn't matter the nation. Imodel for 1812 onward so anything there would be great, but throughout the period would still be cool. Thank you in advance, and enjoy your summer

For GDA2 you can do either. I do 4 figures per base in one line, many other folks use 3+3 or 2+2. The only real requirement is to have at least 4 bases per standard battalion so that they can be converted into skirmishers when the need arises (which it will!) Also important to be able to form distinct formations that can be recognised as “Line”, “Column”, and “Square”.
@davidcooke680010 күн бұрын
Just a quick question for basing. For games like General D’Armee and blackpowder do I have to have 4 models per base or can I do 6. (British Regiment) 3 guys in the front line 3 in the back? Is that acceptable for the game?

You can absolutely do either. One of the great things about BP is that you can use as many minis per unit as you like really. 24 minis you can do 4 bases of 6, 6 bases of 4, even 3 bases of 8! 2 bases of 12 would be mental though hahahaha

Nonsense, what about Ligny? Prussia was a minor player and fall guy as bad as Austria. Britain always had the best army but far too small to be a major player. France pretty much conquered Europe so theres also that. Dont forget Napoleon's success was helped by incompetent opponents, very common in war.
@NapoleonicWargaming10 күн бұрын
A battle in which they fought Napoleon to a narrow loss then came back again for another go in 2 days? The Army of the North certainly couldn't (and didn't!) do that
@AS-qy1zl11 күн бұрын
It is ironic, given the scope of battles and high level of generalship, but Napoleonics are the easiest warfighting method to grasp. Taken down to its basics, you have the three combat arms. Learn their basic capabilities and limitations, and you are set to start gaming. It doesn’t matter if you’re 14 or 40.
