I also fall into the bought one before it was gone category. The journey is such a versatile ball for how sharp and clean it is. Also one of the best scents ever. Sucks that storm seems to be focused on raising the bar for ball reaction and price points and not just the ball reaction.

@LukeRosdahl Күн бұрын
There's a inspected/boxed on date on the ball box it comes in. But either way, a sand and repolish will fix it regardless, it's more or less just to let people know that if their ball isn't acting right, it's not the ball, it's a bad surface prep, and that can be fixed no matter what.

I’ve been wanting to ask you, have you ever thrown Pyramid bowling balls? I’m wanting to get one but not sure, probably because I’ve never seen them on tour with any pros throwing one. They are priced so much lower than the brand names. Makes it easier to be able to purchase a couple of them for the piece of one. Also I wanted to thank you for having Angel throw, it helps a lot to watch a female do the same as you. 😊

When I first started bowling I had a couple. I had the Curse and the orange Pathogen X. They were great out of the gate for me, but turned to paperweights when I changed the surface on them. They basically became burnt up lane balls or spare balls, so I got rid of them when I dropped to 15lbs. My wife also had a Curse and after changing the surface it became her spare ball. However, I also bought urethane Pathogen Plague ball and it was GREAT. The urethane I like better is the Black Hammer. . I have the Black Widow Urethane, Radical Double Cross, and the UC3 and I used to have a 16lb Purple Hammer. The Pathogen Plague reaction is very similar to the Black Hammer urethane. For me, the (Pink) Black Widow urethane is very strong. The Double Cross I like a lot too, but it definitely hooks more than the Black Hammer and Pathogen Plague urethane. I thought about buying another urethane Pathogen Plague, but went with the Black Hammer instead. I think they are very close reaction wise though and one is $55 bucks cheaper. One day I still might, but I will never buy another reactive resin ball from Pyramid- the covers do not do well with surface changes from my experiences.
@deadpolymers3416
@deadpolymers3416 2 күн бұрын
I've tried a bit of everything with Pyramid balls. Not bad for the price, and some are really good despite the low price. The Pathogen Plague solid urethane is an amazing urethane ball for $90. Not Purple Hammer stronger... closer to IQ 78 territory, but much a better urethane for a house shot than the name brand urethanes. Can't recommend that ball highly enough for house shots. The Pathogen Asym is a Black Widow Solid level ball, at only $80. Not even kidding, that ball is so good for the price. The Path Rising balls aren't bad, basically Hustle level balls for $20 less... though I'd still pay extra for a Hustle. I also had a Blood Moon Rising Pearl, which is a pretty strong pearl asym for $120.

When it gets lazy and I need to move alil left I was thinkin bout the DNA coil but now may have to wait and just pair the solid w the pearl. My brother has a Harsh Reality and he loves it so much. He is two handed, but he has an insane amount of tilt and rotation. He usually needs a little help getting the ball to slow down, so the harsh has fit his game perfectly, on almost all conditions too. Also, I’m surprised that you haven’t seen many of that ball. During the greater it was immensely popular. I think that was maybe the most common spi ball I saw being used, at least on the fresh. And while the lanes were fresh it did always look really good, but most people were out of it by the end of game 2.

Track did this years ago with their 3,5,7,9 series. You had the T for traction the C for control and the A for angular. The last 2 numbers were the asymmetrical aspect of the ball. So a 915T was their strongest with traction and a 0.015 asymmetry. The 720C was control and 0.020 asymmetry. 505A…. Well you get the point. 900G isn’t a pioneer here with their numerical model, Track was.

Packy actually told me he was given some advice one time, he was told to learn to throw the ball hard, don't worry about how many revs you get on it or whatever, but as soon as he picked his speed up, they could then add the revs and roll back in. That sounds like a good suggestion to me, I'd try to pick your speed up but not worry about your revs or roll too much because you can bring that back in once you get your speed up.

The Ultimate Defender is the more controllable of the two I think, or really the smoother one, it's more of a tumbly climbing reaction, and this is more of a sharper arc. This is why the whole pearl-hybrid-solid stuff doesn't work. I'm not sure what the reason is ultimately, but this happens quite a lot.
