Agreed. I thought long and hard about tying both of my kayaks together (I have two of the same Vapor 10 kayak) as a catamaran but just haven't had the time. Good idea.

I haven't capsized it yet but it would be a problem. I keep a bailer and a sponge with me at all times and I have everything tied to the kayak.

Sorry for the late reply. I still sail it but I'm not sure of the speeds. It gets me around but not super fast. On a good day, I will guess up to 10mph. Stability is a challenge - I have to fight it a little bit when it is gusty. I have contemplated making some outriggers inspired by the Windrider Tango sailing kayak but I'm torn on just how I want to make them.

The main sail area is 16 sqft, the jib is 9 sqft for a total of 25 sq ft. The mast is 9ft so the luff edge of the main sail is about 7ft. If the sail was any larger, I think I would have severe stability problems because of the power. A larger sail will need a larger leeboard to compensate. When I started this, I found info on the internet about the ratio of sail area vs. foil area (dagger board, center board, or lee board) in the water. If you don't have enough foil in the water to compensate the sails, you will have stability and side slipping problems. Good luck.

Thanks. The main goal was not to have any cuts or drills.

Material for the sail on the kayak is rip-stop nylon from Jo-Ann fabrics (or any fabric store should have this). I would probably have been better served with some type of sail cloth but this works.

The looper button would get in the way of the expression pedal so you'd need a left-side solution to the looper button.

Hello Orrin. Good question. Actually, I'm quite surprised the lee board works at all. It's short but apparently the lee board and the rudder are just enough foil in the water to manage navigation - even tacking upwind at 45 degrees. I think I get a little side-slipping when the kayak heels a little bit and the lee board is on the windward side but it seems to work. Perhaps having a lee board on two sides would be better but I seem to survive with just one. I've had this boat out on the water over 20 times now and the sail rig seems to hold together. Doctor CAD I have actually built my sailing kayak now and have taken it out 4 times, though only the last 2 times did I have enough wind to actually sail. I based it nearly 100% off of your design, though due to the design of my kayak I had to drill holes for mounting. I read through your comments on both videos to get all the demensions. I have noticed the same when I'm tacking with the wind on my starboard side I get a little bit of sidewards movement, but other than that it works great! I plan on posting videos soon to KZfaq and will be sure to credit your design (I'm not sure I'm saying that right, but I mean let everyone know that it is based on your design).

Thanks for the kind words. Undoubtedly I have benefited from videos I have watched on KZfaq (how to fix my car, how to play EVH riffs, laughing at funny cats, etc). This was my way of paying everyone back along with a few other videos I made for the same purpose. My intention isn't to get rich from any of these ideas but instead to keep humans from evolving into creatures with "monkey-like" feet that would be needed in switching between the HOME/LOOPER/RHYTHM modes on this pedal. Hello Kaiser. I use the Truetone 1 spot 9V DC adapter. It was suggested by a guy at the music store. I've been using it on my zoom G1on for about 2 years with no problems.
