You can allways attach an external bluetooth device, to your radio input sockets. No need to make modifications.

How is the laptop power supply maintaining power to the bluetooth module? Is it plugged into power somewhere? Please advise

H, yes the laptop power supply is powered by the 220V home power net

At 4:10 you put bulbs in some power string. What did you use?
@eolivero004 ай бұрын
Hi, do you mean the bulb holder you see at 05:10? I used the original ones that were in the radio

usually old speaker elements are way better sounding than anything modern avaliable...

How did you connect the bulbs to the power supply? Looks like you cut the wire and used some plastic gizmo? Sorry I'm a real newb
@woodoogarage99316 ай бұрын
You mean to connect wires to the power supply? I used simple lever wire connectors similar to these www.amazon.com/Connectors-Conductor-Combination-Assortment-Connection/dp/B07SFCCPZ6/ref=sr_1_7_sspa?crid=ZIYFWO3E2RAR&keywords=cable%2Bconnectors&qid=1705874214&sprefix=cable%2Bconnectors%2Caps%2C174&sr=8-7-spons&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9tdGY&th=1

I use a simpler method. I simply connect a small portable Bluetooth device, with a cable, to it’s record player input. 30s 40s and 50s models use a socket that is compatible with a standard modern European electric plug.

This isn't conversion. You discarded everything except casing and dial glass. Bluetooth module will become obsolete in few years... Proper way is to reuse radio (and restore it) and then add a BT
@smith135791005 ай бұрын
What! Discard or keep the old parts inside and just hook up an amp and bluetooth. That's the whole point. This is not a rebuild video.

Good morning, I would like to do the same thing with an old radio that I inherited... but I'm not very expert, is it possible to have the connection diagram between the transformer and the light bulbs? How did you connect with the old PC transformer and the amplifier power ? thanks so much for your help.

Exactly. I do many of these, and this is a great video explaining how. Now anyone can change the materials, etc, but make sure not to damage any old parts. That way, if someone wants to restore to the original, they can.
@TalmidAndy Жыл бұрын
I am so glad that you went down the route or keeping the original hardware for future restoration. I almost felt like I was going to go off on a rant about destroying perfectly good, restorable, radios only to put in modern garbage. At least you didn't paint it white and beat it with chains to make it look 'better'..

can i ask a question? I followed your video and have converted a couple of vintage radios now and they look and sound great, but when you switch them on and connect to a bluetooth device the volume of the connection sound is so loud!! is there any way of turning this down so it doesnt scare me to death?
@susanshaw2724 Жыл бұрын
I am doing similar project and would love to see the wiring details and the bluetooth amp that you used to buy the same. particularly interested to understand how you use the one power source to power the amp and the lights as I am looking to do the same, thanks Paul

You just can't beat the looks of a well-used old radio. They have a warmth and charm modern products cannot compete with. As a family air loom, it should be restored one day with the replacement of tired old components to give the best possible sound. Its wooden case came up beautifully with a bit of tlc. Very enjoyable video, thank you.
