Getting a tattoo to come out looking great is always depending on how good the artist is and how good you take care of it during the healing process. You can go to the best artist on the planet but if you don't take care of the tattoo during the healing process it's still gonna come out looking crap. Same thing with your old ink, if you use lotion daily and keep it away from direct sunlight and bad after care products it's gonna stay fresh for a long ass time. Stay hydrated, stay away from the sun and buy a good lotion and your ink will be looking as fresh from the oven fam

I just went in a couple days ago to get my 25-ish year old tattoo (and first) to get covered up. The artist was very impressed with how well the color still looked…so much so that she was primarily concerned with how to cover up the red. It’s on my upper arm so it very rarely sees sun.
