What about Scott CPU ? Do you have a video about it ? I saw your comment on 'In One Lesson' channel
@yaseen1573 жыл бұрын
Aha funny that, I never made a video on it but I ended up with a CPU that could automatically run a set of instructions, which theoretically you could use to get it to multiply and divide, and do more complicated operations - I never took it that far, and eventually I left the project abandoned, oops

It's just like any other elevator before or after the update, the last/highest source block of the bubble elevator is allowed to flow in whatever direction you need it to. Make sure there's an airspace above it so mobs that are two blocks tall don't suffocate, and you can place a ceiling above that so mobs don't shoot upwards, but stay in the stream.

@@sterben1066 you have my permission to do just that! Let him know that I recommend playing about with other blocks in place of the fences, if mobs get stuck for whatever reason in the chute entrance.

WARNING: this thing tends to get clogged up really bad. To fix it, put an upwards facing piston in the corner near the soul sand that’s near the two fence posts where they bunch up. Replace the ceiling block above the piston with a glass block so they don’t suffocate. Then just add a button to activate the piston and periodically hit it once in a while to unclog it. This could be put on a timed pulse clock if you want to automate it.

I'm having trouble with this jamming up. I am using a zombie spawner. Anyone else get this working with zombies? It works sometimes for a while then jams. Not sure it is is the little guys or what? I looked at the one wide photo but I can tell what has changed or how to modify the version from the video. Thanks for the video by the way! It is NOT the short zombies causing my trouble. Seems like to regular zombies get jammed shoulder to shoulder just before they enter the bubbles. They each somehow get left and right of center so they don't go in properly.

So many are happy with the design, but what I really like how you made a simple two-minute video explaining how it works, and even offer a skip straight on how to build it. I really love how this is a "no-bullshit" guide, not padding it out with thoughts worthless to nearly everyone, and again, even the thoughts in this video explain how it works rather than how it came to be. The only things that could be improved upon in the tutorial itself would be objective things that are obvious (like having a mic instead of signs). Definitely a quality video, better than some of the big-names out there, even when you remove the objectively horrible ones. Just one last question though; I found a *regular* spider spawner, how would you modify it for those?
@yaseen1576 жыл бұрын
Charcocoa glad you liked the no nonsense approach, I too enjoy people just getting to the point - a big influence on how I made this video. I also misplaced my microphone at the time, hence the signs haha. Anyway I have some ideas for some modifications, I'll get back to you if I find a working setup.

Turned out to be pretty easy. Linked in the description, and here: imgur.com/JZbfFpS. Being 2 blocks wide makes them much easier to handle with the water streams, hopefully the image isn't too hard to follow.

Hi!I tried your 1-wide design(from imgur) and the skeletons just stop on the sourceblock above the fence and do not move at all.Am I doing something wrong or has the final release of Aquatic update made the design not work anymore?
@yaseen1576 жыл бұрын
Alex G. Apologies for the late response - I haven't tested its functionality lately, but there shouldn't be a source block on the fence - the water source diagonal of the fence should be flowing towards the soulsand
@Icohedron6 жыл бұрын
One last thing that is a minor issue: imgur.com/a/XaffHfN Small mobs like baby zombies can get stuck in the fence blocks and in the crevices where the water flows. Only an issue when there is a lot of entities going through at the same time, pushing each other in ways that you don't want.
@yaseen1576 жыл бұрын
Icohedron right, I wasn't expecting a throughput of that many zombies to begin with - I don't deny there's an issue with the baby zombies getting stuck near the fences sometimes, however, I think the load you're placing on the system is unrealistic. For most mob spawners it seems to be alright
@Icohedron6 жыл бұрын
I noticed that baby zombies and other one-block high mobs can get stuck at the top of the fence blocks (head height). You should make the first two water sources flow instead of just the first one at the bottom to fix it.
@yaseen1576 жыл бұрын
Icohedron yeah, it's possible this is a bug as of right now. The fix you mention is the same I describe in the description, but unfortunately in its current state yes, it has some issues with 1 block high mobs right now. Hopefully it's patched soon, but otherwise, the fix you suggested works as a hotfix for now :)

Thank you! (And way to think out of the box!) This is the only truly reliable design I've seen that will work for me. I can't use the 1-wide because my spawn chamber floor is right above bedrock, so I couldn't dig a hole for the fence post. Luckily, there was stone at level 5 where I needed the soul sand to be, and it was simple to switch the flow to diagonal. I couldn't raise the floor or the skellies would be too close to the spawner and ruin the efficiency. BTW, I'm using Bedrock Edition so this works for either.

Chris Childers I will test them out for you later, but I'm sure you're already aware how finnicky they are as mobs to transport
@childersc6 жыл бұрын
I have no problem on 1.12.x moving them around, i found a very good tutorial a while back which I use which allows me to get right under them and hit them without being hit back. Unfortunately it relies on the old style water transport lol
@yaseen1576 жыл бұрын
I can confirm it works, but with 1 small modification - you see how the critical water sources that flow outward draw mobs that are 2 blocks tall into the elevator? It can't do that if the cave spiders are 1 block tall, because they climb above the critical water sources. It is VERY easily fixed, just make the block above the original critcal source into another critical source, i.e, give the source flow direction. Then provided that the cave spiders don't see you beforehand and attempt to climb everything in sight, the elevator works fine.
@childersc6 жыл бұрын
Do you by chance have a picture of this modification?
@yaseen1576 жыл бұрын
Chris Childers I don't, sorry - but it's not too hard to figure out - if the water source block at y:33 for example is our critical water flow one (mob feet height for a 2 tall mob), you need to make the source block at y:34 flow just like y:33 (mob head height for a 2 tall mob). Just do that for the design in this video and it should work
@almostambidextrous6 жыл бұрын
Question: what happens if you spam a whole heap of mobs into this system? Is there a chance that they might bunch up and get stuck on the fenceposts? (and if so, would iron bars perhaps be a better solution?)
@yaseen1576 жыл бұрын
There is nothing to worry about with getting stuck as far as I can tell - the water streams seem to do their jobs with large number of mobs, I'd be hard pressed to believe mobs would get stuck in the system. I just performed some tests with 10 skeletons all at once, the mobs seem to just push each other out of the way and get drawn into the elevator just as usual.

Newer 1-wide design: i.imgur.com/aWoPeLT.png Fixes three issues regarding baby zombies and other one-block high mobs. 1. They can now go into the water stream without getting stuck on the ceiling block (changed to two-high flowing water). 2. They no longer take damage when they hit their head on a ceiling block (the glass fixes that). 3. Baby zombies that (very rarely) fall under the fence post are now disposed of (thanks to magma blocks. Could also use lava and a cobblestone fence instead to destroy items more quickly).

yaseen reza the 1 wide works much better
@yaseen1576 жыл бұрын
Alex I'm aware it does, but it's all subjective - as another commenter pointed out, it all depends on how much of a premium you consider space to be. The "best" 1 wide designs can be useless, if the profile of the elevator is too tall to fit at bedrock level/inside your underground base. Each design has its merits, or we wouldn't need all of them :)
