What if I wanna tighten / reduce the waist size to fit better? Can I just add a button at the right waist size?

This might be a silly question, but somehow the length of the back edge of the gusset looks longer than the back piece edge where they should connect. I don't think I traced the pattern wrong but it's like 3/8" difference
@peggyrussell17288 күн бұрын
How do you make it a lot stiffer so it's not so flimsy?

I sewed this pant at sewing class. The boot leg pattern. Love it. I used stretch imitation jeans material though, because I’m between sizes and it worked just fine.

I'm so glad you enjoyed sewing Dawn in your class! I love that you tried using a stretch fabric with Dawn - that must have resulted in a very comfy pair of jeans! Hope you are enjoying wearing them as much as you enjoyed making them!

Will the old one be ruined or can I reuse it
@MeganNielsenPatternsАй бұрын
Hi Maisie! Unfortunately no you won't be able to reuse it, this will break the old button. You'll need to buy a new one to reattach :) Good luck!

do you need a special sewing machine for this? mine doesn't seem to do the zigzag wide enough ever so I have to hand sew them.

Hi Megan. I found lady on Etsy scamming people with your pattern and altering the pattern into baby bodysuit. She’s using your pictures that you posted on your website. Would be nice if you can report her. I will send you email if I can find on your website and send you and the images. I got scammed by her thinking it’s original baby pattern. 😢😢 I bought your pattern to see what she copied from you and what she didn’t. It would be nice if you can reply on my comment. Have a wonderful day.

Thank you for your free resources, I really appreciate it. What's the shipping fee indicated, are these digital or printed? Because if they are printed, my country is in the middle of nowhere, shipping fee would be millions🥹 thank you again❤

Thank you, what if the button hole is not in good shape? I bought some used jeans and it seems like the button went through the hole, leaving a hole way too big. Should I just put a patch inside so that the button has something to attach to?
@MeganNielsenPatterns3 ай бұрын
Hi Lola! That is a frustrating situation! My strategy would be to do as you described - adding an interfaced patch to the inside to strengthen the waistband and provide something for the new button to attach to. Good luck!

Growing up, we were too poor to own a sewing machine so we stitched the rug together by hand. That was tough!!
@ericadekam4 ай бұрын
If someone doesn't have a sewing machine, can the braids be hand sewn together fairly easily? Also, do you have a video on how to make the rug more elongated (oval shaped)?

I have a related but very specific question. I want to make a set of buttons for a pair of jeans I am having made to measure. I want to make the buttons out of silver. I'm a bench jeweler so forming the metal isn't a problem, but I don't know what winds up holding the front and back together. You mention a plastic part. Is that located in the shaft in the front piece? My initial thought to just make silver fronts compatible with standard backs. Any guidance you can provide would be most welcome. Thanks for the video.

Hi! Question, does removing the button damage the button? In wondering if 8 can preserve it for other jeans
@virginia21594 ай бұрын
Thank you! I didn't know why my belly button was irritated and painful until I felt the edge of the inside button which was extremely sharp! I was going to try to sew a patch over it and then decided to check KZfaq. Now I will just remove and replace with a sewn on button on ALL my Lee jeans. Thank you again!

Thanks for the great pattern. Since I'm a beginner, there's something I'm not clear: For the first step, you place one gusset over the front RST and sew. However, the edges of the gusset and the front are different: one curves downward, the other curves upward, as can be seen at 1:35. Is it alright?
