I'm picking up a Burgman 650 non executive this weekend, 4 years after this video. I am a re-entry rider after 25 years of not riding. I used to ride sport bikes, now I own two cruisers, and a Honda Elite 250. I find myself gravitating towards the scooter daily, so I'm selling the Vulcan 1500 for the Burgman 650.

@@michaelb.42112 amazing!! the gentleman I bought it from got it at your age and kept it for 20 years! he is 75 and decided to move on from it. you're probably more used to scooter controls than I am, but be prepared for a LOT of weight. Don't be afraid to put both feet down at stops or duck waddle it around a parking lot until you get used to it. the wheelbase is very long and takes some getting used to. Good luck, ride safe!

I've lived all over the planet and riden many scooters because of that fact. America doesn't know what it's missing when it comes to fun, easy, reliable riding. The rest of the world isn't so caught up in the American Harley, center of the Universe,..why don't you get areal bike, BS. Yeah,..smaller scoots aren't great for trips, but amazing for city slicking,..but once you get into these bigger scoots they're amazing ! Had a Kymco exciting 500, and that thing would pull 80mph before you even realized how fast you were going. And it topped out at arond 103mph.

I have a 2009 Executive AN version. These bikes are no longer sold in Australia only the 400 and 200 are available now. In my opinion when they were made these bikes were the benchmark for maxi scooters. All the features you mention are good - the Executive has the electrical fold in mirrors and the electrically adjustable screen. Storage in the dash is great and the under seat are will take two full face helmets. A top box completes the storage. ABS brakes are a good feature with twin discs up front and a single disc on the rear. The manual mode is great for the highway as it provides a 6th gear for better fuel economy. Here is my review kzfaq.info/get/bejne/guB0mpx-tMeweIU.html

Dude I love your videos. I’m a senior rider that’s got arthritis in both hands, gout in my left foot, and a bad back also. I really wanted to start riding again, but a clutch and gears were out of the question. It was your videos that convinced me to buy a pre owned Burgman Executive. A nice one owner bike with low miles, and man do I LOVE it! I was on the fence between this Burgman, or a Tmax. The Yamaha is a nice bike, but not $15k nice. And going into debt for a bike just isn’t in my DNA. I rode Harley’s for 35yrs, and they’re great bikes. But I just can’t ride em anymore. I picked up a one owner Executive in mint condition and paid cash for it. Your videos convinced me 100 percent to buy a Burgman, and get into the wind again. I don’t have an ounce of buyers remorse, and the bike is everything you said it was. Thanks for these great videos! It helped me make up my mind, and pull the trigger. Safe and happy riding to you brother!

Being automatic doesn’t a scooter make, right from the Second World War right up to today there has been geared scooters, with a clutch, and front and rear brake, the rear brake is floor mounted just like a car. I have a vespa PX200EFL and a Lambretta GP 200. I think myself what makes people class a scooter as a scooter is the lack of a petrol tank in the frame. The reason I have come to this conclusion is because, when I ride towards a bike on my Suzuki Burgman 650 I put my hand up and because it looks like a big touring bike head on they greet me back. That till the get closer and see it’s got no tank. Boy do they drop the hand quickly. Lol sad really cos I’ve had so many bikes and love em all. Just wanted to add, cos it’s a biggie, I too admire your desire to honour your debt. In the young of today it’s outstanding! A credit to your parents and to you too. It’s all too easy to take the road of lack of ethics. God Bless you my friend, oh and I pray your trip comes off for you x

I had 115 out of my Burgman 650 (2002) Standand. Only had 105 out of my 2010 Exec. I'm told it has something to do with Euro emissions regulations which made Suzuki fit a fat catalytic converter which strangles the performance. I don't know how true that is, but my 2002 was a LOT quicker than my 2010. Not just on top speed, but acceleration as well.

It's a forever belt so 15k is not a lot for it also CVT belt cost up to 1000. from dealer but you can get it as low as 600. On line belt is not one two three like 400 or 500cc it is not that simple but when done it's going to drive like new. Worry more about fluids being right weight and synthetic. Have fun with her she is nimble and quick for 650.

Have had a 2003 for almost 10 years. It's not a beauty, and weights as much as a school-bus. But it's the only scooter which makes You feel like a king! Loved it, and still think, it's the greatest thing, Suzuki ever has built! Sadly it's discontinued, and there is nothing similar to buy new anymore. Look for "fortnine burgman 650" here at YT! The best homage to the big Burg.
