once again you saved me, I could not remember where the three spacer/shims went, my pawl spring broke , ordered a new one, took so long to arrive forgot the sequence, will do a drawing next time, so thanks once again

@@GoodBicycle I now have a problem I would like your opinion on if I may, three shims came off, three shims went back on, but, on tightening the top notch race the cassette binds up, the tighter the race is, the unmovable the cassette is, almost needs another shim to give clearance - but that will reduce the amount of thread for the top notch race to catch on I just do not know how this can be, it's simple stuff really, any ideas please ?

I've always used brake cleaner on something like that, the cleaner will do a great job at cleaning and evaporates quite quickly.

Marketing is a bearing with a small diameter ball. Holovtech need about 6mm and they will last 10 times longer

@@GoodBicycle Theoretically, on a 6005 bearing, it's perfect. But you need a larger diameter carriage to fit the bearing in the middle. Or a narrower carriage to compensate for the width of the bearing.

@@GoodBicycle If you don't want to press in a new bottom bracket, there are eccentric bottom brackets available with a diameter of around 54 mm. With a lathe, you can use the correct size bearing for your cranks. If you are making the frameset yourself, it becomes even easier.

Following your videos I had problems finding the cones and lids in bulk, I also looked for them in Chinese sites but I only found the complete hubs: Couldn't you suggest where you buy them?

Thank you for your comment. There are many variants of cones and unfortunately we also cannot find all the variants for the workshop. We don't sell dustcovers separately, sometimes we have to pick them up from old used hubs. We buy the cones from longus, they are sold in 20 pieces in a bag, we buy them in stores in our city. You can also find shimanos, but they are different for each hub model and expensive

Very nice video - just what I was looking for. It might be cheaper to buy a new BB than to pay for full servicing but it sure is fun to do it yourself and feel satisfied with your work on your own bike.

do you have any idea if it is normal for a shimano xt brake, when you turn the screw that brings the lever closer or further away from the handlebar, to "fill" with oil? does it mean oil is leaking from the tank?

I have a freewheel 7 speed. I'd like to switch to an 8 speed freewheel. Is it possible to just put the 8 speed on? The axle is 130

Thank you for your comment. I don't recommend switching to an 8-speed freewheel, as Shimano is made for 6-7 speeds. There are only low-quality 8-speed freewheels. But if you have a non-Shimano freewheel, you can try

As usual,... thorough and methodical. You went through every single part on the rear shifter, replaced them . This is the correct way of addressing the problem. I have others replace one part, to come back and have replace two or more parts to get rear shifter working correctly. Excellent video...🤓🖒
