Contrary to public belief - Focus on Energy reports that the three biggest problems for birds are buildings and windows which account for 55% of annual deaths, followed by domestic cats at 10% and high tension lines at 8%. Bird deaths due to wind turbines come in at .1%. The red seen on the blades is actually oil and dirt only.

Thanks for all your valuable input. As you can tell, there will be no one material that is used throughout the Inn - there will be as many different products and solutions as possible in order to experience them and test for efficiency and value.

How about adding worm bins to utilize the vegetable food waste from the kitchen, and putting a compost bin on top of the hot water tanks: the heat of composting stuff will act like a self-heating insulation blanket for anything underneath it.
