Good video again Beth thanks. Agree completely with your likes. Regarding the dislikes agree on the buffet and the average age thing, I've found the other passengers to be great though. I'm six cruises in with Azamara now, while you were right about the shower curtain, it's now been fixed. My embarkation experience has been so impressive, at odds with your experience. They've done away with ticketing, just turn up, show your passport and your onboard straight away. Must have been bad luck for you guys in Athens.

We also thought the buffet was better this time round, can’t complain about the buffet for the size of the ship really when the food is so great throughout. We had a very easy check in this time, much smoother! Would love to go back with Azamara again 😍

Fellow "young for Azamara" cruiser and giggling at your buffe comments - larger lines have 2-4 times the same thing on repeat (Im one of those who does a lap of everything before deciding) so for me I just enjoyed things appearing once. My honest impression was in terms of actual variety of food, Azamara's buffe beats the main lines with 4000 passengers - same amount of different things but they actually change daily and are better quality. To be fair I give you the late night pizza - MSC is the winner there

@@np7360 I do agree, especially since having gone on other cruises since I’ve made this video I’ve come to really appreciate the smaller buffet. The only one that beats it for me is Celebrity, but they’re stand out the best for buffets I think. Happy to say the pizza was also a lot better on the more recent Azamara cruise we did (Although MSC and Princess still top it for me)! Glad to have another “young for Azamara” person around here 🤣🤣

I do enjoy documenting our trips so much, I find it so much fun and always so nice to go back over the footage and edit once we’re home and have the “cruise blues”😂 David’s a bit shy on camera so yes I do take center stage or probably not much would be said, but I like to get him involved so we can look back on memories together when we’re older. David’s a cruise connoisseur at Panache Cruises, so off camera he’s actually the more chatty one and great with people. We have plenty more Azamara content lined up in the coming weeks and months. We just got off the Journey and I was thinking it was okay how small it was until I went to shave my legs 😂😂 happy to say on Journey they’ve been trialling some new things, and i noticed the shower curtains were different, much thicker and heavier meaning they stayed in place and didn’t cling or drift inward to the shower☺️

Technicallly superb video. I was on the Aramark Pursuit during May 2024. I agree with the positives of your review but I was not impressed by the tiny shower in the cabin.

@@badgastein2 thank you! We just got off Azamara Journey which is practically the same and we absolutely love the ships. But you’re right - I tried shaving my legs and found it super difficult in the tiny shower this time! They also had more heavyweight shower curtains on Journey though so less space was wasted with the curtain drifting into the shower which was good. I had a peak in the suites this time round and the bathrooms in there were amazing… a video coming soon showing all the staterooms but the bathrooms don’t seem to change in size/design until you go suite class (beyond balcony).

Great vlog. How does Celebrity compare to Azamara? I think they might be slightly more expensive, if so is it worth the extra cost?

@@DuncanHodges-ly3qy thank you! We love them both, we’re currently on Azamara and it’s just a bit more classic and refined (being smaller) and relaxed, which we enjoy. Celebrity is fun and exciting, always something to be amazed by, so it depends on the vacation style you’re going for. Azamara includes basic alcohol in the fare so is a great deal we think, whereas celebrity you’ll pay half your original fare for the drinks package alone. I think it depends which sailing you go on and what deal you get for which is more expensive. I’ll be uploading a day in the life on Azamara vlog very soon (filmed yesterday) so you can see the perks included in the fare if you’re not aware already. Azamara is our favourite overall, but we’re a bit boring so depends on your ideal style of cruise! David also works for Panache Cruises who specialise in premium/luxury cruising so I’m sure he can get you a good deal on Azamara (or suites/aqua class on celebrity) if you’re interested, just let me know and I’ll give you his email! (Although we’re currently on vacation!)

Well this is a month late but were you plugging the hairdryer into the 110V socket? If you’d put it in the 230V socket it would have been more powerful. My wife did the same thing on Royal Caribbean

I just watched the replay of Rich and Helen's live yesterday and thought I would check out your channel as well. We were on the Apex in September of 2022 just as the pandemic was winding down and they only had 501 passengers that week in the Greel Isles so it was fantastic. You are spot on concerning the food at the Buffet and it is the best buffet at sea and we have done 39 cruises with Viking, Princess, Celebrity, Cunard etc so we have a fair batch if ships to compare it to. My favorite on board is Al Bacio and Scoops and they are fantastic as you described. Good luck with the channel, soon you'll fly by your parents' channel.

@@loumello8813 Thanks for checking out our channel and welcome! We did the beyond in August 2022 and had a similar experience with few passengers… gone are the days of reduced capacity! Scoops is the main thing I miss the most on other lines. And hopefully, that’s the goal - it’s hard to sit at my 9-5 desk job watching them travel for a living! Usually it’s the children doing the crazy travelling 😂 They are a true inspiration to me.

@@BethandDavidCruise While I am retired and can travel, my wife is still working so we are only able to do one good cruise a year with her vacation time. This September we are doing Oceania Vista from Athens to Lisbon, 20 days and only one sea day. Looking forward to all the specialty dining on board and have already booked 8 nights of specialty dining. Rich and Helen are very entertaining and I have followed them since shortly after they started the channel. They do the cruises that we like and will do going forward.

Hi! Im a bit confused about the plug situation. Do you need adapters for a UK appliance? And are there more plugs than the one box in the video? Thanks :)

@@laureng007 heya no they have 2 UK plugs in that box thing but we found our Apple chargers were too big to fit side by side next to them so could only use one at a time. The only other plug in the room was a US one on one side of the bed. I’d recommend bringing an adapter for this just in case your ones don’t fit in the box (as we experienced). We did find if you go to guest services, you can rent a universal adaptor from them at a charge of $50 which you get back once you return the adaptor. This was for the Apex, not sure if it applies to the other ships. To see the plugs themselves in more detail I show them in our inside stateroom tour recently uploaded before this video 😊 hope this helps!

@@user-ro8dw8ms9n oh amazing we wanted to do the fjords but none fit our timings! So beautiful, if you get the chance to kayak any fjords I’d recommend it - there’s often places you can hire kayaks there and then instead of an excursion. We did it in Geirangerfjord and it was beautiful. That’ll be an amazing cruise in the Apex - enjoy!!

@@BethandDavidCruise We have just returned from a cruise on Queen Mary 2 . We did the late night snacking for two nights as the spare ribs were calling to me . However we realised it wasn't a good idea eating so late. So we banned ourselves :)

We sailed on the Pursuit last year and are a few weeks away from a trip on the Quest. I think you did a great job of describing the good and not so great aspects of food on Azamara. Overall we thought the food , especially in the main dining room, was very good.

Thanks for posting this video, the food looks incredible. We normally sail Holland America, but I think Azamara has better value going from Montreal to Florida. We booked a future cruise onboard Celebrity 5 years ago while they were still sister lines, so our deposit is already set.

We just got of a Celebrity cruise and we love that line, but as soon as we got off we booked our next cruise on Azamara in only a few weeks because as you say it’s great value. Since the alcohol is included at the base price, the price jump isn’t so different considering you’re getting small ship and premium service. If you’re looking to book with Azamara, let David know [email protected] and he can get you a better deal than booking straight with the line. (Panache cruises is a luxury travel agency). I’ll have lots more better Azamara videos coming out soon (alongside all the Celebrity content from the one we just got off!) ☺️🛳️

I think you're very harsh, God knows what you'd expect from a 3/4 star class cruise. If you want what you'd like book a double price cruise. PO have brought cruising to a more wider clientel, won't watch any more of your videos you sound like a right snob, not my kind of person. I've just come off a PO cruise and everything was fantastic, especially the food and entertainment.

Good idea in theory - awful in practice! We went to the customer service desk to ask for an adapter to use different plugs in our stateroom though and we had to put down a $50 deposit on one but they refunded once we returned it to the desk nearing the end of the cruise.

Just left Azamara Pursuit, whist the food was excellent beware of White Night - I ordered the free house lager but they. ‘Had just run out’ so supplied Amoretti - credit card billed 15 euros per small bottle. Soft drinks - the glass is filled to the brim with ice which only takes half can of drink, the next customer is given the rest of the can. Stupid stunts like this ensure I won’t be coming back.

Interesting to hear! We’re back on Azamara in a few weeks and can’t wait for the white night. But we don’t really drink much so hoping this won’t be an issue for us. Would be really angry if we got charged for something like that though. I’m sure if you took it to customer service they would take it off - I complained about the wifi I bought and they removed the charge. Considering the drinks are included in the fare I’m not surprised they may be filling it with more ice than drink. Overall I think it’s great value, but if you really like a drink a certain way or type of drink, then perhaps not so good 😭 it’s unfortunate you had a bad experience!

@@badgastein2 we haven’t tried silversea but heard so many good things, would love to try one day. I tried Seabourn but it was a long time ago but loved it. By the way, David is a Cruise Connoisseur at Panache Cruises (luxury travel agent) and they do really great prices on Silversea and other luxury lines. If you don’t already use a TA I highly recommend as they can get you great deals. If you’re thinking of booking any more, email david at [email protected] and I’m sure he can get you the best price around. Sounds like you cruise a lot so it’s worth it trying!
