Always used dyed Guinea Fowl, much easier than Jay and easier to obtain. Tried Partridge dyed but too soft and collapses easily.

@@WeeManSham all anglers are well spaced out but I would have preferred him to step out when I was waving so I could have let that fish run as opposed to fighting it on the lip of pool leaving the point fly dangling. Don't think it was intentional, he just didn't know the craic I think 👍

Col from Brisbane, Australia, just made one using your video as a guide. Made it a bit stronger for 4 rods and heavier Alvey type surf reels. Great when moving up and down the beach between gutters. Tks.

Never fished a tube on the surface but the idea really interests me! What style of pattern were you using? Were you fishing this as the subsurface fly seemed to be less productive, or was this simply to change things up?

Jesus seán that's savage it is a pity all rivers in Ireland aren't like that i have 140 hours spent on the river now and landed one 12 lb running springer still trying to get that summer Grilse and maybe that autumn river monster

@@dermotrothwell6078 it's far from easy though and I'd say I've put in a few hundred hours myself for a handful of fish, lost quite a few too though. The Moy is still very poor this year above ballina, hopefully the next flood changes that 🤞
