I've been lucky in that aspect. Was home just between work for a couple of day, my dad died of a massive heart attack, one morning, I was just going to go out to do some groceries. Me and my brother took him down two floors seated in our bare hands to my car to the hospital, only for him to die in my hands just at the entrance of the Emergency unit. The hospital was very close to our home, but it was such a shock to me to have my father die in my arms.....

Dad died alone in a nursing home. I didn't get to see him, didn't get to collect his ashes, couldn't be at any funeral. I've done my damnedest to put all that regret behind but, well when u have moments alone in the silence you miss those who've passed.

I am 14 right now, about to be 15. When I first listened to this song, I didn't really pay attention to the lyrics so I really didn't feel much. The second time I listened to this, I read the lyrics, and I cried. The outro especially got me. Made me think of my dad, and my Grandpa who passed away from Covid in late 2020. I can't help but tear up at the line "I'll always be with you, don't forget. Just look over your shoulder, I'll be there."
