I actually can't see anything in this performance that would scandalise anyone. If you didn't already know Divine was a drag queen, you'd just see a large woman, not doing or singing anything obscene or even really sexual. There's nothing to trigger a wail of "how will I explain this to my children?!?!" from anyone but the most disingenuous prude, and why would they be watching the show that gave the world Pan's People?

It was 40 years ago since Divine performed a song "You Think You're a Man" and make it at number 16 in the UK (OCC), it is so sad that song didn't chart in the America (US Billboard Hot 100) nor Canada. Divine is great actor of the drag queen but also a great singer. She was known in John Waters movies: Mondo Trasho (1969), Multiple Maniacs (1970), Pink Flamingos (1972), Female Trouble (1974), Polyester (1981) and Hairspray (1988). He did also feature in other movies without John Waters directing it, which is: Lust In the Dust (1985), Trouble In Mind (1985) and also final movie which posthumously after his death is Out of the Dark (1989). He was also didn't feature in Desperate Living (1977), John Waters wanted him to play Mole McHenry, I presumably that he refused to play that role. But anyways, R.I.P. Divine. Also I do imagine that Divine performing a song while he was wearing his black pair of Cha-Cha Heels during live.

It is strange to watch now. It is somehow sterile and controlled, whereas the many of these acts on a weekend would be playing Fantasia, Raindance, Dreamscape and other huge raves where the crowds were much more appropriate and genuine.
