It is amazing to watch how this frail old man who can hardly walk and rasps when he breathes sits down at the piano and becomes a SUPERMAN. I am not just talking about the flawless musical virtuosity, I am talking about the sheer physical strength it takes to play any one of the lengthy piano busters that he always plays with perfection even at this advanced age. HOROWITZ is amazing and after comparing his performances to those of all the other major pianists of his era, including the much vaunted RACHMANINOV...HOROWITZ is still the best and in a class of his own.
