what is the aspect ratio of the video with the black banding or crop top and bottom? Did you shoot in 4k and then crop?
@oosterlingproductions4349 Жыл бұрын
Off the top of my head I don’t remember the numbers. But I did crop afterwards. I usually start with a letterbox overlay and then I export with those pixels removed so that I don’t run into fuzzy edges or pixelation in the letterbox

Hey, I have a yogurt shop to do one of these for. Do you mind me asking what kind of questions you ask to get authentic answers from the customers or employees?
@oosterlingproductions43492 жыл бұрын
Hey there. For this video I did not come up with the questions, the producer who hired me already had basic questions for all of interviewees. That being said, to get the most genuine answers you may want to do a PRE-INTERVIEW before you get on set and start filming. Just chat with the interviewee, ask simple questions and let them tell you their story. Take notes and create new questions based off of the pre-interview.

Awesome work got me so inspired, I've probably watched all of you guy's videos by now lol! I just got the 12-35mm and glad to see something like this shot with it. Was that the main lens used in this video? Wondering because I see a lot of lenses listed in the description. Thank you!
@oosterlingproductions43492 жыл бұрын
Hey there! Thank you so much. This one is actually one of my favorites. As for the lens, I’ll probably have to make a video about this since everyone asks. Yes, the 12-35 is the primary lens I use at weddings, and on this wedding it was coupled with the Canon 50mm 1.8 (using a viltrox speed-booster). The 12-35 is an awesome all around “safe” lens to use. It keeps the image extremely stable, the auto focus is pretty good, and being able to switch focal lengths on the fly is very convenient. I HIGHLY recommend getting a variable ND filter for it for outdoor shots so you can get that shallow depth of field back. Let me know if you have any other questions!
@jayjayjaythebrand2 жыл бұрын
@@oosterlingproductions4349 thanks so much! Is there any particular variable ND filter you recommend for the 12-35mm? And lastly, do you shoot weddings solo or have a partner with you?
@oosterlingproductions43492 жыл бұрын
@@jayjayjaythebrand I use a Gobe ND, but if you can put more into it, I’d get one that doesn’t cause so much color change. It’s great but it does make things more orange. If I could do it again I’d save up and get something from Tiffen or one of the other better known brands. I typically shoot solo, but my sole focus is a 6-8 minute short film. The full length ceremony is one camera angle. If clients want something fancier for the full film, I’d charge more to bring another person.

Hello there, this looks great, well done. I'm in Ireland, just dipping my toe into this stuff. I was impressed by how balanced your exposure is. Could you tell me what settings you use please?
@oosterlingproductions43492 жыл бұрын
Oh that's awesome! I'd love to film in Ireland one day. I believe for this video I was shooting in a custom profile built off of Natural. If you look up "White in Revery GH5 color profile" I used the settings they used. Other than that, shoot at a wide aperture, 60FPS, Shutter speed at 120 (or a 180 shutter angle, which, if you do a lot of video I highly recommend using shutter angle instead of shutter speed.) Then do your best to set the white balance correctly in each shot. I feel like I need work in that area personally.

Very nice. I'm envious of your focus with the GH5. I just got one and I love it but am getting used to focusing manually. Do you use a follow focus on your gimbal ?
@oosterlingproductions43492 жыл бұрын
Actually on my gimbal I typically use autofocus with my LUMIX 12-35. It doesn’t do too bad of a job. For some of the shots I just keep track of my distance between myself and my subject. When I use my primes I’m usually hand holding and letting IBIS do it’s work. Focus peaking is my friend. I DO have a follow focus on my gimbal but I’ve not gotten used to it yet.
