I do not think I would because you need the antibacterial properties for preserving the mixture with sugar. I guess if you used a super high proof rum you could try it. Just don't want yuckies growing.

Authentic Yorkshire Tea - as mainlined in Yorkshire is always served with a 'drop of milk' - the milk of choice and tradition is cat 🐈⬛ milk ... The cat, must be, (at the very least) ... third generation Yorkshire born, able to balance on a broom handle - and have had, at least, some flight experience; herding them and milking them involves a 12 year apprenticeship and welding gloves ...

These are the worst figs I have ever had. They were so dry it was like chewing sand and then I found some full of mold! I contacted the manufacturer and they said they would refund my money and then the next email said they would not refund my money after I sent them pictures of the mold! Avoid!
