most Chef's knives are big and have sabre grinds, so you don't have too spend $100s on a 'survival' knife

I have always found the Tom Brown Tracker to function like a badly done compressed khukuri, not my cup of tea tbh. Much prefer my khukuri and billhooks paired with a small belt knife and a Victorinox 111mm. One tool options are overrated. I have spent a whole week bushcrafting with only a Mora Companion, conversely I have spent a whole week with only a Victorinox Forester, also spent a week with only a billhook. Now I carry all three as they complement each other. I would not want to conversely carry a Tracker instead as it does nothing well and doesn't suit sub tropical or semi temperate bushcrafting either. Maybe if I was in Europe or North America instead of Asia I might find it more useful.

That sheath didn't come with the knife. I purchased it separately on EBAY. It came with a kydex. The T3 I sent photos of is a larger, better survival knife. It lighter Than the T1 and just a little smaller. The T1 is extremely heavy.

A bushcraft knife is a survival knife for people who don't understand the proper techniques for carrying a larger fixed blade comfortably. Usually they hang their knife from the belt like they saw in a photo somewhere, instead of cutting the belt loop off and tucking the sheath under the belt and affixing it with a cord like a sword, which eliminates all flopping and movement and makes it ride higher and off the ground when seated or kneeling, and allows for concealment. Next, the bushcraft knife is easier to control for people who don't understand the technique of looping your index or middle finger around the crossguard to effectively shorten the blade and give you more control in a skinning grip, or hooking your pinky under the guard so you can grip the entire blade and control a small carving tip without your hand moving and being cut.

Hey so cool tip for everyone. I have the previous version of this pack. I took a flexible cutting board from amazon and cut it to the exact size of the foam pad, rounded the 2 corners, and shoved it with the foam pad into the pack, makes it a tad more rigid and now i have a foam sit pad and a cutting board/little table.

Nice video. But, no matter where you are, the worse things get, the less wild animals, fish, and frogs will be available due to everyone will be out trying to procure the same game you're after. It won't matter if you're on your own property on out in the wild.

Nice ‘supplement’ kit, I would put some cordage in there, at worst a spare shoelace can help with sheltering and first aid (keep it simple). You already have needles and safety pins in the kit, I always have a pre-threaded needle sealed in a straw on me which includes mini safety pins and a mini paperclip. My ‘most bang for the buck’ survival item is a stick of good quality moisturizing lip balm, it has many survival uses from adding burn time to kindling/tinder to preventing a cut from sticking to duct tape used as an improvised band aid. The one I keep in my EDC ‘OLOK’ (One Litre, One Kilo) survival kit has SPF15 so can serve as sunscreen. Cold dry winter air can suck moisture out of your skin making you colder like sweating in summer, rub some lip balm on exposed skin to reduce this. Greetings from Montreal, Canada. Show you love wildlife, hug a porcupine today !

Hi, if you are not saved, and would like to be included in the rapture of the church. Believe that Jesus's death on the cross, was enough to pay for ALL your sins , yes ALL ,(past, present and future) That is what the Gospel is about. We are saved by GOD'S amazing grace, through our faith in Jesus's sinless life, death on the cross and resurrection 3 days later . No additional works needed. It is literally that simple. Ephesians 2:8-9 Romans 10:9-10 Romans 4:5

I believe that if you carry a gun, you should have the ability to stop bleeding.
@jeremymoses7401
@jeremymoses7401 5 күн бұрын
@@theaveragewoodsman6002i agree, if you carry then you should be able to stop the bleeding. However, you need to examine reason over purpose here. Your reason is gun. I dont know about you but the bulk of my training is center mass.... not putting a tourniquet there. Tourniquets are reserved soley for extremity wounds where a pressure dressing has failed or otherwise cannot reasonably be applied..... severe lacerations or possible amputations. Im not saying dont carry it, but the reasoning doesnt quite add up.😂 Background: having done countless tourniquet drills, the first order of business is suppressive fire and possible evac, these not withstanding, that means youd have the time to apply proper bandaging first. Tourniquets are not primary for gun shots, just the "other" explosive on the battlefield that may cost you that limb... yes i said drills because for what i did get into, i never had the bad juju of actually needing that piece of gear.

@andrewheynig2721
@andrewheynig2721 6 күн бұрын
@@theaveragewoodsman6002 Depends on your gardening style. I use the approach of eating the weeds. If someone came into my garden they would probably keep on walking because all they would see is weeds. Most standard crops do not have the ability to withstand changing weather patterns. Weed seeds can stay dormant for years waiting for the right conditions. If I have to leave and come back they will probably still be there unless the wildlife gets hungry.
@andrewheynig2721

I have had my garden eaten by deer leaving me with nothing but my weeds. In a grid down scenario people don't realize how big a garden you need to feed a family. The larger the garden the easier it is for people to see and take.

Great supplemental kit. I really like the idea of attaching a small light to the inside of the tobacco tin lid. I'm going to steal that idea. Great to see someone putting a decent compass and whistle in their kit too. Myself, I'd try to cram a mini-bic lighter or small ferrocerium rod into that tin, along with some heavy duty aluminium foil.

Amazing kit. Good work. I do have some options for you that I have for my altoid tin can survival kit that I’d like to recommend. 1. The tops fire starter tool (short but THICK firesteel) 2. The Swiss Army knife evo grip 18s. Perfect multi tool for hygiene, sawing exc with a locking blade. 3. Whirlpool plastic bags (atleast one) you have the water tablets which is great, and you also have a large plastic bag, but the wirlpool bags are exactly 32oz of water storage so you know how many tabs to use without over doing it or under doing it. 4. A mini necklace knife sharpener. I found one that sharpens my Swiss army and fishing hooks all in one. Last but not least 5. Kevlar cord at 50lb test. Good for fishing and bow drill work.
