Good discussion! I'm glad that NAVFAC's top management is talking about GRGB seriously. Solving some of NAVFAC's problems will require real leadership of the challenging kind, involving looking at ourselves and our supported commands. Embracing the red is something that needs to be done at every level of NAVFAC. We need to encourage people who are just waiting around for change to instead be drivers of incrementally solving problems they see everyday. Looking forward to seeing more messaging from leadership and examples of what they are doing.

They should have never gotten rid of the power plant because the steam is crap now
I probably should have posted this years ago. I worked with Frank and the others at Mazar I Sharif and Camp Spann. I could not watch the video it was too sad. I worked for USACE as an engineer and worked with Frank and the other navy folks. A memory that is burn in my mind is we attended a lot on meeting with the Afghans on projects. One such meeting was with an Afghan commander that was in town, we went as a group about 20 of us both naval base personnel and a lot of USACE people. I had been joking around with Frank earlier in the day. At this meeting this was a large office with nice furniture, the navy guys sat on the left and the USACE guys sat on the right. Frank was toward the front with his back somewhat towards the group and facing me. For some reason as the commander was arguing with Col. Sykes Frank had this huge grin on his face. He must have known something. Anyway he was staring at me and I started laughing, I almost wrenched my guts trying not to laugh out loud. Frank's face staring at me with that big huge grin, I will never forget it. When I think about Frank and I close my eyes I see that face staring back at me. I PT with Frank and the other nurses Lt Florence Choe and Kim Lebel around the base road running and jogging a few times a week. The day of the shooting I would have mostly likely been with them but I had a meeting that afternoon with the GSU Afghan Commander at their base. Good chance i would have been KIA as well. I had a flag flown over the base in tribute to Frank and Choe and have the Flag in an Oak display case along with photos of Frank and his memorial in my office. Most of the photos in the DEFAC with Frank, I was sitting across from him at the table. When I got back I wanted to reach out to his parents and talk with them, I did not really know how. Memorial Day is a lot harder now. Losing Frank and Choe and the whole afghan engagement was a total waste. Absolute waste! Frank will never be forgotten! Thank you SEABEES 😊 and a BIG Happy birthday 😊❤😊 Remember being in NG and stationed at the main Fuel dock for Whidbey Island. I saw the Neat equipment the SeaBees had stationed there. Whidbey Island is a Naval Air station Base that is part of Air Wings bringing their Fighter/ radar jammer Jets back to when Aircraft Carrier comes back to home Naval ship yards. The nearest piece of equipment was a big front wheel Loader, with a Backhoe attachment on the back.

Hi, I'm interested in working as an electrician at Navfac and I have a diploma as an electrical industry technician. Could you tell me how I can apply for employment?
I was Stationed NSGA 80-81. 395 days !! Arrived on the Rock 🪨 at young age of 18 right out of Radioman A class school 🏫 and left the Rock 🪨 at a Ripe age of 20 years old. Then headed back to San Diego California on a Navy Ship 🚢 longer than my stay on Adak. While I was stationed in Adak out of 395 days I served there The damn Sun 🌞 shined only 1 day !! Captain 👨✈️ Brown called Sunshine Liberty and we got off work for the rest of the day !!! Had a 5.4 Earthquake while I was stationed there 😁🤔🪨🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸👀

I need a purpose. What I do to go there is find a hole. One nobody was looking for. Then I find where it ends. Adak has none I can access except, perhaps, by water. I'm still seeking entry beside the Salish Sea. Since '83.
