I always was into psychology series But Oshi no ko overcome my expectations. I simply love the way they built the characters I was amazed by Ai character development, not only in the music video, but also in the anime And the moment she died, shocked me. I wish she was alive, because it's so fucking sad, to finally know how it's like to love someone, and finally have everything you wished for, just to die, and not being able to live the feeling Can't wait for season 2 premier Also, can someone please recommend me, some animes similar to Oshi no ko, from a psychological point of view?

Hi!! Really loved the video- and I understand it might've been to refer to the two main characters of this MV as Raison and D'etre, I just wanna let people know that it's probably not their names but a whole word in French- meaning "Reason"

I have always enjoyed Eve's discography, but recently I've been paying more attention to his lyrics. I'm not sure what led me to find Leo, but it quickly became one of the most important songs to me. There's so many interpretations to the lyrics and I enjoy that open endedness to his songs. One of the theories I read was how the lyrics equate to depression, suicide, and unable to find the love he was seeking [Leo] (mostly the sirens halfway through the song and the morse code) and everytime I hear it, it hits super deep to me. Lately, I've struggled a lot with my mental health (always have, but it's felt worse lately) trying to find where I fit, searching for love, for friendship, meaning and how to overcome my mental illness. This song felt like it expressed every word, every feeling, emotion, in my head and heart. It means a lot to me that I can read into these lyrics and find comfort in knowing I'm heard. That it can express the pain I have trouble saying. Eve has quickly become my favorite artist, and so quickly has his music become so important to me.

Yeah, I actually think they are the same person. I don't think any time they show D'etre she is actually "real". Raison sees herself as the hero struggling through the world until she starts to realize what she's becoming. D'etre is actually the feelings that are being locked away, and when the mask breaks Raison is forced to confront them and finally realizes she's fighting herself and has been the "bad guy" so to speak. That's my theory anyway.

3 years late but being a weeb and theatre dweeb whose had an unhealthy dedication to this song my hat so enters the ring. "All the worlds a stage, all the men and women, merely players..." - As You Like It courtesy of Shakespeare. As humans we are fundamentally creatures of narrative, we tell stories not only for entertainment, but as a means of pack survival. We take the actions of others, extrapolate those actions to outcomes either positive or negative, and use that mimetic storytelling to inform our actions, beliefs, and sense of self. It is ingrained in a swath of cultures to perform in concurrence with social norms and scripts, where role noncompliance is treated with mistrust or active disavowel from the group. So dispite our individual rationalization that we each much surely be the narratives protagonist, we find ourselves forced to wear the masks we are expect to wear. A performatove mask, disconnected from our interior identities. Expected to fit the dramatis personae some invisable playwright set out for us. Which given our ability to adapt and contain multitudes is something we all do, the only truely unfortunate outcome is if we adopt those persona so thoroughly that we completely lose the character we know as our true selves, our identities..

The most common interpretation I've seen is where the bears are representative of boys and specifically Kumataro is representative of Yoh's best friend. The different bears on the girl's keychain are all boys that she's leading on, and the little sentient bears surrounding Yoh are his friends (as they are not tied to his bag or anything) This interpretation follows the idea that Yoh and his friend both like the girl but she ends up going out with the friend. She then reveals to Yoh that she likes HIM and just dated the friend to get closer to him. He ultimately rejects her because he doesn't want to betray his best friend. The scene of the girl throwing the old Kumataro into the lake is representative of her dumping him, and Yoh going in to get it back represents him comforting his friend afterwords. There's also an extended version of this interpretation in which Yoh and his friend end up getting together, which kind of makes sense considering the video. The girl goes into the bear store and looks around (this represents her being straight and openly having interest in boys) Yoh enters the store kind of nervously, checking that the coast is clear and looking around in sort of a faster pace, but definitely still having interest in the bears. These clips of him in the bear store are played multiple times towards the end of the video, specifically when he was retrieving Kumataro from the lake. Following the idea that the girl having the bear charm on her bag implies she was in a relationship with him, then if Yoh has the old Kumataro on his phone, perhaps it means the same for him? This is just made up of things I've heard and seen from other people but its interesting to think about

What a moronic approach to art. Not everything is a puzzle box to solve in a fifteen minute video. There IS no "one explanation" of it, or Eve would have furnished us with one. This isn't even a particularly interesting or compelling interpretation of the themes and imagery of the video.

Back four years later (wow) and the older I get the more beautiful the song becomes Metaphorically speaking if you treat the society in the video as a person or representation of one too me it feels like repressing oneself to stay the same monochrome color, much like pattun does I think. However once the brain/person realizes this and wants to feel again, it’s not that it’s a bad thing, but they feel every emotion all at once causing chaos within them. However that chaos may be necessary, but the reasoning behind why could represent why pattun does the same with himself. As the only time pattun has color on him that’s his is with the yellow scar, like you said showing his desire to be free from himself. I just wanted to share my interpretation now that I’m a little older and getting back into Eve😋
