You did not get the Arabic tone well. You need to move your finger a little. It is lower than the Western note by a quarter. I mean: a distance - three-quarters of a distance - three-quarters of a distance, then as in the Western scale. Good luck

Hey Murat awesome Oud right so I’ve got a question I’ve never played stringed instruments before but I’m hooked on the Oud right now and that’s the only thing on my mind when it comes to stringed instruments. The Oud I’m getting is a Turkish one what tips would you give to complete noobs like me who plan on learning the Oud also I’m in contact with a Turkish Oud teacher yeah I guess that’s my 😶 thanks 🙏🏿 PS that Oud seems expensive or it might be a vintage Turkish Oud from the sound of it so it must be expensive right the price must’ve been insane 😅 sorry

Mine is good, wasn't really expensive though. I don't remember the exact price but pretty sure it was under 1k. Maybe order from Sela Muzik in Turkey? They're reliable. You can get something pretty good for less than 1k, just don't go below 3-400. And let me know if the other teacher doesn't work out=)

I have autism and played for years then list my guitar in a fire 🔥. I bought another one but it was never the same after soni stopped playing. I played Spanish and classical but love tutkish and Arabic music. I've been wanting to play agsin this last year and going to get a new guitar in the next week or two

@@BigRode1008 Really no idea. When I watch it the sound is fine. Did you try on a different device or sound system? Again my guess is that one of your speakers is off or there's a setting where one of the sides is muted. The sound in this video seems to be really right heavy but it's totally watchable on my end.

Very nice lesson, thanks for sharing. Most of the songs on the Ali/Toumani albums are in standard tuning and nice to play along to since the playing isn't quite as complex as Ali's solo albums. Still requires an attentive ear because the rythmic aspect is quite different from western music. It's nice to see others having a go at these tunes.

And is there alternate tuning that the low E is tuned up to a G if I’m remembering correctly?
@jleroy882 ай бұрын
@@MuratKMusic That's right and I believe he also tuned his guitar down at least half a step (to compensate maybe for the high tension on the G). On a nylon string guitar, I tune instead to DGDGBE so the 5th string takes over as the main bass drone and it's easier on the strings. This allows one to play Ali's songs without much difference on the fingerings except switching 6th string to 5th.
