I don't own this. My question being can you refill the duct tape with 1 inch width Gorilla brand or are we stuck buying refills from EXOTAC? Their stuff is GREAT but just like all our gear ya gotta think outside the box. Is the thick center of this just duct tape wrapped around a threaded tube? As you know because I probably drove you crazy, I found O rings and wicks and everything but a field expedient emergency replacement brass pin for the TitanLight.😂 I was damn well determined that the thing has to be able to be repaired with stuff that is easier to acquire in a pinch. Cost be damned

Sorry I left that out of the review. The duct tape that this takes is 2 inches wide (5.08 cm). So you could put any 2-inch Duct tape on there or two layers of 1 inch beside each other. I checked and every roll with the exception of the 1 inch duct tape I have is 2 inches wide. So any hardware store, many gas stations and just about every handman's toolbox I have seen you can find duct tape.

@ronphillips6336 Ok I tested my Primus stove and it indeed goes out when you Press in on the knob. I then got out my camping moon XD 2 and tried the same thing. No change in flame. I tried out several other iso butane stoves and had the same result. Only the Primus goes out or has a flame change when the knob is pressed. So I am guessing the valve is designed different than any other stove I own. I am not an engineer but I find this very odd and a bit distressing. I noticed that this quirk makes it harder to adjust the flame, as you may press inward on the valve without realizing it. then when you pull your hand away the flame intensity changes slightly. Thanks for bringing this to my attention. May have to do a follow up video.

I am extremely disappointed with this charger. The functionality is severely lacking, and it is one of the worst purchases I have made. I once bought a cheap charger from a bin at Disneyland, and even that performed better than this product. The reviews on Walmart's website further validate my experience. Many of the positive reviews appear to be incentivized, while the negative reviews highlight numerous issues, such as the charger failing to charge, ceasing to work altogether, and the solar panel never functioning. The only reliable feature is the flashlight, which essentially makes this product nothing more than a flashlight since mine wont even charge anything anymore after very little use. also the MAH is a lie its only 11k MAH not 20,000 I am shocked there is not a lawsuit over this dumpster fire of a charger.
@charlesartificer215823 күн бұрын
My review is not incentivized. I have never received a free product or money to do a review from anyone. I am just a guy who likes going out in the woods and do some KZfaq videos. This charger like many things electronic is made in china cheaply as possible. So buying things like this is a risk. I still use this one and the smaller version. They work fine for me. I have not had problems like others. Sorry to hear you like others got a defective one.
@harrisondarkly19 күн бұрын

@charlesartificer215818 күн бұрын
Ahh Ok. Well maybe you can find a better one on amazon. I read a lot of reviews and watch a lot of videos before I purchase things. But with 95% of products made in china I always worry I will get a lemon. When I was a kid My teacher in electronics told my class a story. When He was a young man all the trash electronics came from Japan. Now all the trash comes from china. You see in his time it was after WWII and to rebuild Japan's economy the USA helped the Japanese Government to get their industry back up and running. All the stuff they made was for the US and Europe market. Cheap transistor radios and such. Fast forward to today some of the best electronics in the world come from Japan and all the cheap copy's are made in china. Now I'm not saying everything from china sucks. I have been surprised a few times. But I am saying a lot of it is made as cheaply and as fast as possible. Plus the quality control sucks at best. Sorry for the rant lol. Been a very long crazy day. Have a great night and good luck.

@@charlesartificer2158 I didn't know it's called, I guess it's a rivet, lol. I can't tighten that at all?
@charlesartificer215823 күн бұрын
Not easily. Rivets like this are compressed. They are usually 2 parts. one side is solid round stock. the other is hollow like a pipe. They press together and they usually will go no further if they are fully seated. You could try resting one side on an anvil or large piece of metal, free-weights ect. Then with a hammer lightly tap the other side to see if it tightens up at all. Please remove the glass from the lid first so you don't break it. If it wont move at all then the only option left is to grind one side off so you can remove it and fashion a replacement and put it in. without knowing your skill level this last option may be out of the question for you. Sorry I don't have better advice. have a great night.
@charlesartificer215823 күн бұрын
Also If you have access to a vice you could put both ends of the rivet in the jaws of a vice and slowly close it and see if that tightens it up. Sorry Its late here and I'm half asleep. Have a great night Hoppe things work out for you.

"Graduations in both Metric and English"? I had no idea The Metric system was actually a language, or that English was a form of measurement. I also have this kit, and i'd agree with you on the cheapness of the bag ( although my bag looks quite a bit different than yours.), im looking for a replacement. My mods went the other way. I kept the bottom, but then drilled 4 holes about a half an inch down and put 2 pins through, that supports the cup, and because its slightly inside, it adds some stability. You just light the stove first, drop it in the bottom, pins in place, cup on top, and dinner's on its way.
@charlesartificer2158Ай бұрын
I think I can Visualize what you are describing in reference to your mods. Best carrier I found for this set without spending a fortune is the GI carrier. When I was growing up Many people around here called metric commie or Japanese. This being Michigan in the 70-80's many people here hated Japanese cars. Tools then were either SAE, English or commie lol. So all these years later I still slip up when it comes to metric measurements. thanks for the stroll down memory lane, have a great night.
