Hello Electro University. My question is how can you find a very specific potentiometer, like the OEM stock one from a product you have disassembled. On the Potentiometer of mine it says ''4K7 LOG A8''. I'm %90 sure it was made by Siemens and the product is from 1979. But no other code at all. If I can try to source this. Where can I find new old stocks?

You destroyed the board by stripping some pads in your removal process. You had to use low temp soldering paste and flux. Never ever force the chip off.

Can’t with the multimeter you could determine if the zener diode is defective without becoming inestien?

*How mush it take to heatup* ? *And is wattage the higher the faster it heatsup* ? *What about parts can i order soldering tips and soldering iron if any got damaged break etc* ? This what i look for in every single soldering iron or station As i dont know ehich reliable and whichs heatup better and have parts* Any help?😢

The temperature increases very quickly. As shown in the video, it takes just a few seconds to reach the desired level. This product uses 290 watts, which may explain why it heats up quickly. The soldering tips and iron are replaceable. You can find links to the accessories in the video description. Based on my preliminary testing, it is a reliable product. I hope this helps. Happy soldering! 😊

If you're starting out, you should hold the nozzle 3-5 inches away. As you practice and become more experienced, you can get closer and closer to the component. The distance depends on the individual and a lot of practice.

Got a reading of 19.3 on this same charger so it is bad as you say?
@ElectroUniversity
@ElectroUniversity 29 күн бұрын
When there is no load, you usually get a higher voltage reading than the rated charger. A lower voltage is an indicator that the charger is failing.

why infinity ohm on a cap? and first so low?
@irgnedeinname
@irgnedeinname Ай бұрын
When you charge a capacitor you have current going in right? The closer it gets to being full the less current flows until it stops completely. Remember the basics: high resistance means low current and vice versa. A multimeter measures resistance by applying a low testvoltage and measuring the resulting current. And with voltage and current it calculates the resistance. When measuring the resistance the capacitor gets charged with the multimeters testvoltage. While the capacitor is charging from empty to full the current decreases until it hits zero. The resistance behaves opposite to the current. So if the resistance doesn't continuously climb to infinity during the measurement it means there is a low resistance electrical connection inside the cap between the two sides that shouldn't be there and hence the test result would be: "failed"
