Sounds awful. Jakob is the ultimate talentless nepo baby, and jade sounds like a cow giving birth.

Such a great song, don't know why it wasn't a bigger hit, maybe because it wasnt done by Taylor swift otherwise it would have been number one for about 3 years

The only debate I could ever have on The Beach Boys is who had the better voice…Carl or Brian?

I think this is FANTASTIC. I would LOVE it if you could take your AI voice for Jan Berry and apply it to some of his Carnival of Sound material. I think it would be awesome to hear the AI Jan Berry singing the lead on "Girl You're Blowing My Mind" or some of those other after the accident Jan Berry compositions.

I like how it depicts Murry playing both sides of the fence when it came to The Beatles; he used their dominant success to intimidate Brian and the band to keep making hits but then he downplays The Beatles' legitimacy to the Capitol execs, arguing they should focus on the Beach Boys.

The biggest issue with this AI creation is that the lead singer doesn't sound very much like Jan, who sang the main lead vocals on Surf City, as well as most of their other surf and car hits. Furthermore, the lead singer and falsetto also doesn't sound much like Dean either. So it sort of sounds like a JAN & DEAN song but without Jan & Dean. Where did the AI come up with these voices?
@shawncrossen7580

I agree it's not 100% sounding like Jan, but it's pretty close to be perfectly honest, and there are parts that are spot on such as the [2:10] mark.

He started it. Jan Finished it. Brian couldn't believe it when he heard what Jan had done with it. At the vocal session. It would've never seen the light of day as a Beach Boy song. As he was ready to shelf it.

Most people don't realize it was actually Jan & Dean who developed what we now refer to as the California surfer sound, Brian Wilson simply rode the wave, so to speak!

That's backwards actually and wrong. I'm a fan of both bands. They started with Dop Wop and they seen what the BBs were doing. Jan and Dean had hits like Linda and Baby Talk furthest from the surf sound. That was 1961 and 1962. The band hears Surfin' and Surfin Safari and changes their sound. The album Jan and Dean make in 1962 next is Take Linda Surfing. Jan and Dean's first ever Surf song was Surf City. Brian wrote it and gave it to Jan and Dean. That was in 1963. Jan and Dean gained a hit with it. Brian wanted to do Surfin' USA and Dean said we'll take it. Brian said no and gave them Surf City. It had a different name then. It was Goode Connie Won't You Come Back To Me. So Surf City was a hit and Jan and Dean recorded an album around it. I could go on! Read the books before commenting bullshit.

@@danerd8978 The way I understand it is, Brian originally started writing Surf City, but Jan finished it and as another poster stated, Brian couldn't believe what Jan had done with it, the vocals were amazing and Brian was blown away by the arrangements Jan had created, but it was never a Beach Boy song, as Brian had already shelved the project. So if we assume that Surf City was the sound that defined a generation, then Jan & Dean are the original Beach Boys clown!
@shawncrossen7580
@shawncrossen7580 10 күн бұрын
@@danerd8978 To be clear, Brian started the basic structure of the song and lost interest, it was Jan who took it to the next level and transformed it into the number one hit single. What people have to realize here is "Goode Connie Won't You Come Back To Me" was an unfinished and very early composition to the finished "Surf City" hit single. Bottom line here, "Surf City" would have NEVER happened if not for the contributions of both Brian Wilson AND Jan Berry.

Love this song. Kathy Troccoli is the only one that could come close to matching Carl singing this song. Love both versions. My love and my first big date was a BB concert in Providence RI 1975. We went our way for a while but have recently found each other again. Great memories.

I heard in another interview that Brian doesn’t listen to anything but “Be My Baby” over and over again. Brian was fascinated with the Phil Spector “wall of sound” which Spector created. I never really understood what that meant until I watched a Beach Boy’s documentary where Brian explained why he was so taken with it.
