I realize that in the show being a Shinobi is really exciting and fun in the beginning, but so many ninja have to deal with the deaths of friend and family, and the up becoming traumatized. They should have never introduced this back-story. Immediately undermines everything Naruto started out as and the characters' arcs.

Sharingan is certainly one of the most cursed power in entire history of anime. Imagine your entire family slain, and all you get is some funny magic eyes. From rational stand point, it's better to get Sharingan and be orphan, than just be orphan, but from normal-not-a-psychopath-human stand point those eyes would always associates with trauma. Also, curious thing: psychopaths in Uchiha clan most likely would never be able to unlock Sharingan, it's power of empathetic fools (who got f*cked by brutal reality)
