@Liesl_Cigarboxguitar I am sure it will, have you seen the 3/4 string kit guitars I think from gitty guitars they have a amp inside the cigar box so you can play them anywhere busking ect. They sound great. Might be something you could do one day.

@Liesl_Cigarboxguitar yes sounds interesting. I have seen a pan banjo somewhere. I think in reality if you know how to build a guitar you can build a guitar out of almost anything imagination creativity is a great thing. You might come up with a whole new string instrument.👍

Great tips, yes I like the natural colour of the wood I am using but also like to see the grain and like you got fed up with nasty chemicals so I use white spirit to clean the wood then oil I use 3in1 light oil which works well then plenty coats of beeswax not forgetting to sand in-between white spirit and oil first coat of beeswax put on with fine wire wool. But your method is truly non toxic and gives a great result 😊👍

Thanks for the tip, b64! I can see how your method will work well 😊. I hadn't thought to use the white spirit. Bees wax gives a beautiful finnish. I can see how, with the wire wool, you would get a nice glass smooth finnish. Thanks for commenting 👍

It reminds me of this youtube video of this asian diddley bow player by the name "Merce Death" that I use in my Didley bow class to middle schoolers who think you can't rock out on ones string. Every time I try to link another youtube video in the comment s of someone's video I get dinged for spamming so do a search for his video "Playing 12 famous songs with one string guitar that I made from scratch" It's amazing.
