I have a Pro51X, I've had it over 10 years, and I bought it new. Mine has a Kawasaki engine. It's never broken down, never failed to start. It's an animal. It collects in hideous rain. And it outperforms my twin blade Honda Pro. It is heavy and expensive, but will I buy another? Yes, without question.
@Citizen-vv1yx22 күн бұрын
I have been told that the battery needs changing every 4 years and it costs £10-15k. I live in London. I work in London. I do 2020 - 250 miles a week. Because of where I live, I can't charge it at home, so I have to rely on public fast charging points. The cheapest van I have found today is £12k including vat. MOT due Nov 2024. Considering all of the above issues, is it worth buying a second-hand one?

@@GregsMowing I’m a gardener down in Dorset my mower day in day out is a 2022 hayter harrier 48 pro which is a great mower but the engine is definitely underpowered If I had to upgrade to a 22 inch mower would you recommend the toro pro stripe is the one to get over the hayter 56 pro and the honder hrh 536 pro roller?

Whoever designed this machine needs to go back to school. A lack of attention to detail with small faults occurring regularly and weak components failing after less than a year. Expensive machine been back to be fixed three times, at cost.
@GregsMowingАй бұрын
Interesting comment. The fact you had to pay for any repair within its first year would suggest damage caused by your use and not wear and tear. What was changed? These are designed to be maintained. Not left alone and destroy everything slowly. These are the easiest pro mowers to work on with most cost effective parts too. I will agree they are expensive considering the engine choices.

@irionpleione8312Ай бұрын
Greg, I really need your advice. My old 48cm wide mower is falling apart; I'd prefer one size larger (53cm) for my home lawn; ready to spend for a professional high quality machine. The problem is that my lawn is based on fescue grass with very fine leaves which my current mower has problem collecting. What mower would you recommend (I don't want stripping); Toro Proline is probably made for coarser lawns, Stihl 655VS is not worth its price, Stiga with a Honda engine or Honda HRD536 ?
@GregsMowingАй бұрын
Hi. Not sure on various grass types. Honda hrh is a solid unit. As is Weibang virtue 53. How they perform on fine leaves I don’t know. Where are you based?

@@GregsMowing , en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Karst_Plateau ; and I've made a typo: fescue with fine leaves - ornamental :D ; I need a machine with a fine cut and very good collecting. Honda HRH is maybe too massive for home use; I've been looking at Honda HRD536HXE; Stiga twinclip 955B with Honda engine, Toro HD Proline 22285. But maybe there is a better option. 😁

Hi Tom, what brand you had issues with? The rollers are same as Hayter and are designed to be maintained. Not left for a year after ruse in the rain etc. Will need rebuild. I've just been to look at one of these that's just arrived at my local dealer. Looks a lot of mower for the money. Lots heavier than my Toro Timemaster. 4L fuel tank and a powerful engine. To buy or not to buy? Brand new to the market. Trouble is the Toro just isn't up to the commercial work I'm giving it (and not powerful enough)
@GregsMowing2 ай бұрын
Well the Timemaster is a domestic spec mower. The turfmaster is built for commercial work. That said the Timemaster as of now has a lot more power than the turfmaster. Baffling I know. All Weibang stuff is designed for pro use. Lot bigger engine as you say. And they don’t seem to give up on development so if there is an issue you can bet they’ll sort it out asap. Yes it’s new so maybe wait a few months. And let any issues be ironed out. From the brief videos on the machine it does look very good. Time will tell.

@GregsMowing2 ай бұрын
Hi Jeff. Can’t remember to be honest. But normally I don’t. Sometimes fuel can dribble out of the cap. If so you just need a container to catch it. Wouldn’t worry about the oil. I’ve seen mowers tilted up like this for a day and night. No issues. Hope that helps.

Hi Greg 4 years on do you still recommend Toro over the hayter I am thinking of changing my stock of 5 hayter 56 getting fed up of changing belts now they are 5 years old are you having problems with Toro prostripe cheers
@GregsMowing2 ай бұрын
Hi. I haven’t used mine in a while due to work situation. If I could I’d use it more. I still don’t rate the 56 pro as highly. The Briggs is cheap and drive is slow to move. And red paint is just better! Don’t know if I ever changed drive belt or not to be honest. I know I’ve done drive cable and the drive internals once or twice. Two year warranty though. Also the gearboxes on the toros are lot better. Last lot longer. 3 speed. But do cost a fair bit more. Also the blade isn’t as high lift as the Hayter due to the Kawasaki being noisy. Allegedly. However you can change the blade yourself to one that works for you. But keep it quiet. 🥳

@GregsMowing3 ай бұрын
Hi Curtis. How tall? If it’s silly tall then use a strimmer then mow it. Soft ground the Toro is ideal thanks to its wide rounded wheels. Other manufacturers have hard rough wheels which cause ruts. I use the Toro with high lift blade and high revs and clean bag and it will go through a lot. Hope that helps.

Best thing is to get one. Remove the battery rubbish and put diesel engine in it and gearbox 😂. They are still early days and basically fancy prototypes.
