We have such similar taste and I'm definitely a thought daughter, though I'd never heard the term 😊 Lonely castle in the mirror was my best book of 2022. Loved it! Also loved the Starless sea, the book thief, before the coffee gets cold, circe. I have the first monk and robot out from the library now 😊 I was literally holding Tress in my hands in a bookshop this week and I put it back! 🙈 I also recently bought tomorrow x3. For you I'd recommend The Nothing Girl by Jodi Taylor. It's a duology and I think it'll tick all the boxes. Particularly loved the audio as great narrator 😊

Always love a good book haul! Wow, what a great find with Before the Coffee Gets Cold and Becoming, really nice hardcovers! Love the Narnia box set! We found the series at Goodwill a couple months ago, except it was missing The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe 😂 Half a Soul was so cute, hope you’ll love it!

I really enjoyed before the coffee gets cold and I loved the Starless sea a lot! The hobbit I was a bit 50:50 on. I've always meant to read the chronicles of Narnia series. I must also get to Becoming, I think Michelle Obama is really inspiring.

I am so happy enjoyed And Their Eyes Were Watching God. I think I commented it is one of my all time favorite books. I 1000% agree it should be on HS must read list. I fell in love with it and with Zora Neal Hurston in high school. I feel like this book is a huge part of how I would look at life over my late teens, and the decades that have followed. The language, the prose just the way she writes is beautiful. I hope you read some of her other books, but this is her masterpiece, imo!

I really loved the starless sea and I was a bit underwhelmed by the night circus as it had been so hyped. I just bought Legendborn 🥳 My kids are 10 & 7 - do you think they're the right age for Percy Jackson?? I've never read the books or watched the films, but I feel like we should!

These are awesome tips. One of the things I weirdly struggled with that contributed to me getting in reading slumps was realizing it's okay stop reading a book if I'm not having a good time with it.

Physical books are just much better in my opinion, I can't focus on things I'm hearing while reading actually takes my brain to read the words otherwise I'm just flipping through pages. I always zone out while listening to audiobooks, they also just don't have the same affect as getting lost in books.

Yay Bernadette! What I heard was (checking notes): you really identified with Bernadette’s struggles with social anxiety, creativity, and family dynamics. You could really connect with her quest for identity and the impact of societal expectations. Furthermore, beneath all the quirky narrative and fragmented storytelling, the book tackles serious issues such as mental health, personal fulfillment, and the complexities of modern life. Finally, you appreciated the sense of wanderlust Bernadette had for visiting some remote, majestic, frozen wonderland in the Southern Hemisphere. And you highly recommend it! 😉

Okay when you compared The Starless Sea to Piranesi, you 100% sold me!! Just read that in June and absolutely loved it! I have The Night Circus on my TBR cart so who knows which one I’ll get to first, haha. Also read Amina Al-Sirafi in June and had a fun time 😊 So glad you loved Legendborn and Bloodmarked, I can’t wait for the third book!!

Talk about book and vacations: My whole family took us to an MLB game and I decided to read a 50 chapter book (roughly 543 pages) at the stadium. Finished before the game was over. I have never been more proud.🥹👍🏻
