Random question as I’ve been watching more endurance racing recently. I notice the drivers usually have their visor up. Is this a personal preference thing and FIA doesn’t mandate you have it down while driving?

The shifts seems so hard. I wonder if the drivers head is jolting as perceived in the camera. What an incredibly raw view and I can imagine how hard it must be to extract the full potential lap after lap.
