Don't speculate that's why it took awhile for you to figure out what was going on I'm going to say it easy was fine I believe your mechanic said it was okay that idle air control thing without it it'll make your car run like f****** s*** now that you have it running right disconnect the idle control thing and tried to drive it it's impossible the throttle body so big it needs air when that throttle body is closed that bypass is open I would say move on to something else maybe it'll make the thing run and ship better better running engine makes the transmission perform better well at least with my automatic I have GS300 IS300 but a Chevy truck would have that same kind of idle air control that one is as big as a cigar almost looks like a penis on a Chevy throttle body on that one is very large there is no bypass like that on the 300
@skkrrtskrrt147014 күн бұрын
You are a number one mechanic nobody will ever suspect idle air control or a hose or something unplugged it would have told you if you pulled out the codes
@skkrrtskrrt147014 күн бұрын

The last person probably messed with that idle adjustment because the car was running shity they felt it was a solution the hose that you replace should have been 90% of the problem

That is a bypass hose when did when the throttle body is closed that actuator is open open that car is only going to idle it's going to hesitate bad off the line why don't you use some of that black tape to reattach that hose we'll get a piece long enough new piece from the throttle body it's just big enough to fit inside that hole that's covered with tape try to point that hole towards the hose itself Dr PCP PCV tubing that almost looks like the whole size of a PCV valve too maybe you can get an elbow elbow in the hole piece of straight hose you shouldn't block that hose at all it needs to be utilized

Hey I just recently bought myself a 01 IS300!!! It has 207k mile and everything is stock. Recently I was thinking of like putting in GTE internals, then the turbo stuff, and whatever ecu and wiring’s I’d need to do. This will be my Daily too, so I would only do a small amount of boost, What do you think?
@Edward3jrАй бұрын
You don’t need to put gte internals if you’re planning to run a small amount of boost. Those motors are good for 350ish (or more depending on tune)

Excellent video. Your methodology, diagnostic order of operations etc was perfect. With these cars you HAVE to know the computer is up to snuff. Then you can start looking at other systems and what parts may need replacing. Nice work.

Appreciate this video. I hope these dont stick up that far on an A70. These things are huge! I already disliked how tall the stock shifter is. Both look to be about 3-5" too long for my taste. Maybe just above armrest height would be nice imo. DM looks to be relatively easy to cut down. Cubespeed not so much.

About to put some Strongflex bushings on my 98 SC400. The Whiteline kit I got 3 years ago only came with the rack clamp bushing so I was still rocking factory rack bushings from 1997 lmao

What do you mean file the break line.
@Edward3jr2 ай бұрын
Some of the break lines were over torqued from factory, Causing the head to expand. Because of this when you replace the break lines, it’s almost impossible for them to fit. So you have to slowly remove some the material with a file. I only had to do this for two sides.

I upgraded my fuel pump to a 12v one and I have to push an efi fuse to get it to “work” everytime before i start it so annoying
@Ophidicus2 ай бұрын
back 20 years ago when I first got my MKIV Supra I did an NA-T conversion with a similar design as yours and kept burning the intake coupler for the TB and was annoying because it was sitting right above the hot side of the turbo. it came with auxiliary injectors and was very temperamental. I 'm sure there are more options now than back then but I hated the distributor and the wires and eventually blew up my motor. I ended up getting forged TT pistons and rods and got a TT head in 2008 and am much happier with the setup.
